Academics is hardly an echo chamber. I've been to a number of scholarly meetings myself and they are quite lively discussions where people seldom agree 100% on anything, even if there is a general consensus on some important points. Yes, I've read the book. I can say that it's a scholarly approach with confidence. The CBGM doesn't make decisions for

The Coherence Based Genealogical Method is based on solid scholarship. It's also NOT a method where the computer automatically picks the answers. The computer simply tracks the earlier selections of the editors and reinforces consistency (coherence) based on those editorial choices. At least that's my understanding. For more information, please read

Hi, Dave! Thanks for your response. The problem I've been having with the Text Comparison tool is that it only works for Bibles that have a reverse interlinear data set already. I was hoping there might be a workaround with a straight interlinear markup. But apparently there isn't one. Thanks for taking the time to reply!

I had the milestones, but didn't notice the unassuming drop-down for Bible. Thank you so much!

When building a Personal Book, I receive the following error message. [Warning] Text in 'bible' field but this resource is not a Bible. What tag or field do I need to add to mark this resource as a Bible?

I need help with advanced search capabilities in Logos 8. I want to be able to search for specific search terms in specific chapters of a non-Bible book in Logos. For example, in Berkouer's "Study in Dogmatics: The Return of Christ" I want to search for the word "parousia" in only chapter 5. On the "Search All Text for", I tried clicking "All Text"

Was support for interlinear text ever added to Personal Book Builder? For example, could one build an interlinear personal book of parallel passages from the synoptic gospels that are particularly close in their readings? Could one build a reverse interlinear personal book of one's own translation and the underlying original language (Greek or Hebrew

Graham, yes the settings are the same for ESV. Is there someone who could work with me to find out what the difference is? Feel free to have someone contact me via email/phone to schedule a time when someone could remote in and chase this further. (I take it that contact info is on my account, so I won't post it here.) Thanks!

Hi, Graham! Thanks for the quick reply. I didn't know that I posted twice, because I got an error message on the first post. When I tried to add a second image to the first post, it appeared to REPLACE the first image rather than ADD to it, so I could only do one image at a time anyway. I checked my layout and it DOES have "Notes and Highlights (Corresponding

Here's what I'm experiencing. I highlighted the verse 1 Kings 7:1 in the LEB. Then I viewed it on the layout "6 Bibles: LEB, ESV, NKJV, NIV, CSB, NLT" where these 6 versions are on the screen in 6 vertical columns and all visible. The same verse is highlighted in all 6 versions now, but some have words that aren't highlighted within the verse. When

I like the Bible highlights, but it's hard to tell what version I did the highlight in. Sometimes when I'm in a different version from where the highlight was made and I point to the highlight, I get a popup message that says "Corresponding annotation from ESV" or whatever version where the original highlight was made. But this behavior isn't consistent

So many of our resources contain multiple languages by nature: English, Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic. Many also have languages used for theology: German, French, Italian, etc. Why doesn't Logos 8 recognize the language and use the right access while using Read Aloud? Thanks!

I'm looking at Shakespeare's Hamlet. the lines start with a FTLN reference number. (FTLN 1762) [64] To be or not to be—that is the question: What does FTLN stand for? Is this a standard Shakespeare reference of some kind? Thanks so much!

I have Logos 8 and an Amazon Echo Dot. I’m trying to figure out the following: Is there a list of a actions/commands for the Faithlife skill? How do I change Bible versions? Can I use the Passage Guide or Topic Guide? How to I read chapter 5 of a particular book (other than the Bible) in my Logos library? Does the Faithlife skill have Verse of the Day

In Proclaim, is there an editing code that allows me to create a new line on a slide without breaking to the next slide? I tried double dashes (--) but I either get a long dash or a new page. How do I force a line break on the same slide? Thanks!

Is there such a thing as a devotional for each chapter of the Bible? I found some chapter summaries, such as the "Summarized Bible" for the Old and New Testaments. I also found a number of calendar devotionals with readings for one year. But I can't find a book of devotionals for each chapter of the Bible. Our church is looking for something like that

I love the Logos 7 Sermon Editor! However, the problem I have with it is when I export to Proclaim. In the Sermon Editor, I use "Export" then "Send to Faithlife Proclaim". On the "Select a Presentation" screen, I pick the presentation to export to and click the "Next" button. On the next screen I click the "Send" button to confirm. When I go to Proclaim

I totally agree! The main thing isn't an exhaustive list, but to stop seeing repeats. I keep seeing the same items that I don't intend to buy anytime soon. That's why I would really like a "Not Interested" list. Many of them are sets, so I'd like to put the whole set on "Not Interested".
-
Dear Logos.com Developers, Logos has so many titles now that I often get thousands of results. Please make it easier for me to find and to buy titles of interest. I propose a “Not Interested” list. Anything on the “Not Interested” would not show in queries on Logos.com. If I go to Sale > On Sale Today, anything on my “Not Interested” list would be hidden

How do I search and display all the footnotes for a translation of the New Testament? For example, how would I search for and display all of the NKJV footnotes in the New Testament so I could quickly scan them for items of interest? I want to show the verse references, but not the verse text, to make the list easy to skim quickly. Thanks!
