Decided to uninstall & reinstall on the SSD. Around 9GB download and reindex which just completed. Will try out tonight and see if/how performance differs.
-
Hi Bruce, Thanks for the link, but I'm well aware of the performance advantages of SSDs. What I'm not aware of are the amount of write operations Logos does (especially when indexing). Will running Logos on an SSD appreciably reduce its lifespan?
-
I have plenty of space on my SSD but was concerned that Logos would reduce the drive lifespan w/write operations so I installed on the HDD. Is this something I should be concerned about? Also, which is cleaner in the long run: uninstall then install on the SSD or using the junction command mentioned in the wiki?
-
Is the need to dedicate SSD space for Logos 6 true for desktops in addition to laptops?
-
Thanks! Didn't even think to look there. Just assumed it was part of the profile.
-
What information in the profile is used to control the time stamps shown in the Logos forums? I can't see any way to set the time zone in the Faithlife profile and its defaults to PST for me.
-
Bump....Reimar answered the Seventh-day Adventist International Bible Commentary target date, anyone have an update on the Andrews Bible Commentary target date and the date for the Logos release?
-
Thanks for the link Tom. I couldn't get it even after disabling ad-blocking software. Turns out that you also need to permit faithlifeads.com if you're using NoScript on Firefox.
Everyone should see the "New to you" list match the list of resources with a blue starburst in the "More details about these resources" section at the bottom of the page.
The lists now match for me, but the dynamic price has almost tripled to $135.66 from $53.63 for the five resources!
-
So actually I need five volumes, not four. The Job volume is one I do need. If I buy them individually they will total $49.95 NOT $53.63. With all the hype, you would think Logos had plenty of time to get this figured out.
I'm in the same situation. Dynamic price of $53.63 with only four volumes in the New to You list
Already had the freebe, and the one for 1.99 is showing full price.
Second one is full price for me also.

Excellent news Martin on both fronts! Glad to hear that creative promotions are at least being considered.
-
Thanks Reimar for the approximate timeline! Much appreciated.
-
and on a related note, is there a known target date for the Seventh-day Adventist International Bible Commentary?
-
What's the expected publishing date for the Andrews Bible Commentary? There were a series of articles published in 2013 indicating it should've been released at GC. But given the lack of news, I'm guessing that didn't happen? Also, is a Logos variant expected when its released?
An alternate method is to place finger on first word, pause for about one second, then swipe additional text. This process is done without lifting the finger until all desired text is highlighted.
Thanks! The double tap still wasn't working reliably for me near the page margins, but the tap and drag seems to work very

One other data point. If the selection starts in around the center of the page, I don't seem to experience the issue. Its only when the selection starts somewhat near the left or right margins that it exhibits itself.
-
Note: the problem happens w/resources I've purchased w/Vyrso and also regular Logos resources.
-
- Does this happen will every resource you've tried or just certain ones? - Are the resource downloaded or not? - Is your iPad in landscape or portrait mode? - Have you changed the text size value in Reader View?
I've only tried a limited subset of resources, but all have exhibited this behavior so far
I'm on an iPad Air
The air is significantly faster so that could be why you don't see it as often.
I expect Kevin will see this post and comment. I'm not 100% convinced it is a bug but we'll see what he says.
If it was occasional, I might be prone to agree with you. But this
