Hi Amy, Sounds like an indexing issue. There have been some problems since the release of the NIV2011 which may be affecting your indexing depending upon exactly when you downloaded. See here: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/28720.aspx There are workarounds on that thread for the time being. If our still struggling by tomorrow morning it may be

  • Re: indexing every time I open the program

As a point, it seems to index fine with the beta, although there are other issues (font rendering for one), but the beta is a lot quicker.

Excellent, I'm in, especially as it won't be in the next couple of months budgets!

Rosie. and others, Can you explain to me why it's so useful? I'm from a science background research wise and therefore am used to heading to online search engines (web of science, etc.) for abstracts and papers etc. Is this essentially the equivalent? It may help to give a run down of how it might be used. Thanks, Kenny

Just to confirm I have the same issue since the upgrade to KF. Will post logs when I'm home. Kenny

  • Re: New Mac AIr--Logos 4

Hi Bryan, Your question wasn't addressed to me, but I'll give some indications of what I understand. The harddrive itself manages the 4GB to keep regularly accessed data on it, so the system can access it quickly, in some senses it 'learns' what you need quickly and stores as much of it there as it can to speed up access. You would use it as a normal

To clarify something ( I have the white 13.3 MB with normal HDD and 2GB RAM): From the various reports of speed issues on the forum and monitoring my own RAM usage, it doesn't appear to me that Logos is using vast amounts of ram, I always seem to have sufficient inactive memory left. It appears that the SSD makes the biggest difference, it doesn't seem

With regard to screen size I manage perfectly adequately on a 13inch. Bear in mind they are widescreen, which I find helps with L4 asI can easily manage two columns in layout and read easily. It depends how you use L4 I think. I find no benefit with a 17inch standard screen, although it is older and not great resolution. It's a personal preference,

Elizabeth, As above contact customer services on Monday morning. They are very good at dealing with these kind of things. Some things have physical media others don't. If you want to give it as a gift you may be able to speak to them on Monday and find a way for them to add it to the account of the person concerned? Worth asking if physical media aren

Mac's aren't cheap from a purely hardware perspective. You have always been able to get cheaper equivalents in the PC range. Most apple components are good quailty ones, but are simply bought from usual supplier so are nothing special. What you get with a mac is an OS that is designed to run on your specific hardware and therefore tends to be more stable

Yes and yes, it's a personal license rather than machine based.

I think, and someone will confirm this for me, that you can use either, the license isn't for the specific operating system. You should be able to find a download link somewhere! Kenny

  • Re: Exporting citations to bibtex?

Thanks Todd and Dominick, Todd, your way would be ideal except I'm on a mac and the print export option doesn't exist yet! I'll bear that in mind for when it does. Dominick, thanks your way does also work on the mac window and until there's a way without cretaing clippings I'll use that! Kenny

  • Exporting citations to bibtex?

Hi All, I was wondering if there is an easy way to export citations to a bibtex format for use in a reference manager? I've had a hunt around the forums and can't find much! Thanks, Kenny

  • Completing a collection?

Hi All, A quick question, have you any experience of Logos offering a discount on completing collections if you've already bought some of the books from it? I'm considering buying some of the PNTC books on the Christmas specials as I can't afford the set currently, but may eventually want the whole set anyway, so it would be daft to buy twice! Im not

Hi All, First post! Firstly thanks for Logos and the resources, much easier than thumbing through dozens of books! Can I request you consider adding the above book (or preferably the trilogy)? Unless I'm being blind and just can't see it. Many Thanks, Kenny
