  • Re: Why New Interpreters Bible

Has anyone else noticed on the product page that NIB won't be available for mobile devices? It only has the Mac and PC icons. Right now it's just wishful thinking for me either way, but even if I did have the money to spend on it that would be a dealbreaker.

  • Base Package Indecision

Hi all, Apologies in advance for the long post. I'm hoping to glean some of the forum's collective wisdom in a debate I'm having with myself. I'm a soon-to-be Seminary student who's planning to use Logos primarily for school. I also teach small groups at my church (and preach, very rarely). My dilemma (trilemma really) is this: I currently have the

  • Re: Mormon Studies Collection

[quote user="BriM"] It would be nice if resources like this could be compartmentalised so that they would only be searched if explicitly selected. I realise I could create a collection of "Mainstream Christian Resources" or similar and search that, but I tend to search my whole library and I guess many people do the same. I'm thinking that a checkbox

The 30th has come and gone and I still haven't heard anything about my Christmas Credit, nor do I see it in my account page. Anyone else in this boat?

  • Re: Software for Reading and Speaking Hebrew?

Don't feed the troll. In response to Samuel, Rosetta Stone has an offering for Hebrew, and I've known several people who've used their products and loved them. The software attempts to simulate the experience of total immersion in a language, so it will help a lot with vocabulary but it will take a while for you to pick up on the formal details of the

  • Re: ePub support for Personal Books?

Of course, there's also a large library of free, public domain ePubs available around the internet, Project Gutenberg being the prime example. There are also stores where you can purchase DRM-free copies of works still under copyright. Logos' motivation for not allowing ePub import has far less to do with copyright and far more to do with their business

  • Re: New Interpreter's Bible treatment of Psalm 44

I think this comment keeps in line with discussion of the resource, not discussion of the theological topic. Keep in mind that this is a commentary on a specific passage that deals with suffering, not a comprehensive theological treatment of the topic of suffering as a whole. I would say that, in the context of this psalm, everything the commentator

  • CP: Scofield Collection (including reference Bible)

Hey all, Love him or hate him, this is great stuff to have in your library. Right now the bidding is at $20 with a long way to go, but I bet if we get enough people in we could get it to 100% at $15 or less in no time at all! Linky: http://www.logos.com/product/16396/c-i-scofield-collection

  • Re: Lion Full Screen capability in Logos 4 Mac

My point is that the L4 track record has been a development team creating a platform from scratch. When you're doing that, you just flat out don't have the resources to do much more than the basics. Once that platform is finished, however, those development resources that have been focused on creating the engine and underlying elements will be freed

  • Base Package Comparison - in Excel!

Hi everybody, First post here. I'm a prospective Seminary student and occasional teacher/worship leader who currently owns the Bible Study Library, and am looking to upgrade, so I've been comparing the Original Languages and Scholar's libraries. The comparison page on Logos is nice, but as a professional nerd I felt the compulsive need to filter, sort

  • Re: Open Kindle Books in logos

I am using a Mac, but I think I forgot a step. The HTMLZ file is really a zip file, and you'll need to extract it first. I'm starting to vaguely recall renaming the HTMLZ file to a .zip extension, then double-clicking to extract. I'm not at my mac now to test this, but that should do the trick.

Be sure you've updated to the latest version of iOS. There were some changes in 5.0.1 relating to storage and backup ( this post provides more detail on what it fixed, see the update at the bottom).

This looks to be a useful collection of documents for anyone interested in history of doctrine, and for a steal of a price.

[quote user="Jonathan Pitts"] 1. It always wanted to install additional software when it updated. 2. It tried to update too frequently. 3. It put a shortcut on my desktop without asking: it's my desktop, to put there what I like, not what software writers want to put there. 4. Perhaps it is being a PC user, I found the whole user interface unfamiliar

  • Re: Advice re:MacBook Air

Former Apple Store employee here, and I highly recommend the refurbished Airs. Word is that the QC process for refurbished Apple products is incredibly stringent, and based on the refurb repair volume I saw (or rather, lack thereof) I believe it. Plus the include the same warranty as brand new ones. Save yourself a hundred bucks or two.
