• Re: Becoming frustrated and disappointed with Logos 4
Really appreciate everyones help. I do know that at least half of my frustration has to do with ignorance about the way it works. I have watched the videos at least twice and while they are informative as to what each thing can do, I think they lack context. I am hoping that the new DVD that is coming out about doing Bible
Note: many sites that have public domain books on the internet have copyright privileges on their electronic form of the book. Logos cannot simply "steal" their electronic version. Logos either needs to work out a contract with the owner OR create their own electronic version from a dead tree or manuscript source.
I

  • BUG: Link Set Label Displays Behind Book Cover

I could have sworn I saw this reported before, but it's not in the known issues list on the latest release and I can't find the thread. Sorry if this is a duplicate topic. I made the jump to the Beta channel from 4.5b, and all seems well except for this layout bug:

I could use some prayer in the area of employment, especially for my wife. We're moving out to California (from Delaware) in July, with no jobs lined up, so I can attend Fuller Seminary. I have a few leads already on some part-time IT work, and those are pretty common so I'm not too worried for myself. My wife, on the other hand, will be looking for
Mitchell, I'm not disagreeing ... but I'm wondering why you wouldn't want BOTH the library and the 'i' panel (where you click on the circled info button when reading a resource) materially expanded? If I remember right (obviously everyone's kind of given up on the issue), the information isn't quite there. The Libronix version (which

  • Metadata Suggestion: Original Publication Date

While the effort to add this would be significant, I think it would be very useful for Logos to include the original publication date, or perhaps date of authorship, of a book, rather than the publication of the edition digitized or created by Logos. For example, the publication date for "Grace Abounding to the Chief of Sinners" is 1995, which is not

  • More information in resource pop-up boxes

I would find it very helpful to have some more information show in the popup that shows when I hover over a resource in the passage guide. Maybe it's just because of my usage pattern - in the interest of keeping my prioritization list reasonable and relatively uncorrupted (I had some problems in the past when I got fancy), I've stuck to prioritizing

  • Major discovery of an early church manuscript!

Apparently Origen's homilies on the Psalms were discovered in the Bavarian State Library! They've already digitized the text, how could would it be if it got into Logos? http://www.roger-pearse.com/weblog/?p=8758

I use Calibre myself, but I find that HTMLZ is a better intermediary format than RTF, because it supports images and a few more formatting options. Word still opens it fine. I don't remember how it does with footnotes, but it wouldn't surprise me if they worked.

I do this with my Kindle books using the Personal Books feature. I've posted a step-by-step here: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/44022/328760.aspx#328760 It's sort of a pain, and I don't do it with every book I buy on the Kindle, but it's worth the effort for books that I think I will reference later on.
