Looks like we're about 60% of the way to $15. I think it can be done, but it's gonna be tight!

  • Re: not THAT valuable
Logos has a very good niche in the eBook publishing market. The suitability of Logos' titles is a highly subjective issue and is affected by their price, user's occupation, academic status and other variables.
I would add to that list (in fact place at the top of that list) the type of resource. That and the price are

That happened suddenly! I'm still in at $20. Great timing too, we've got a whole week to get it down to $15. Think it can be done?

  • Re: Planning Out Upgrades

Yep, that's definitely the plan prior to picking up any new packages or major resources. I picked up the NLT, NIV11, and JPS Tanakh today. Wishing I had the reverse interlinears for the first two, but I'm ok with waiting on that.
I bought UBS Translators Handbooks, about $800, I think, and only got offered about $200 off Gold or Platinum. Tho for a recently purchased Greek Testament or LXX or something, I was offered credit on the whole price when I upgraded to scholars. I'm not quite sure how it works. Same sales rep, and he's usually verey generous

  • Planning Out Upgrades

I'm looking for some advice on upgrade planning and particularly some insight into how Logos sales pro-rates package prices (if they do at all). Right now I have the Original Language library with a very few additions (a few CP titles, AYBD, planning to add the Tyndale commentaries soon). There's nothing in Scholar's that looks compelling to me, but

Glad I saw this thread, I almost missed out on this! I really need to start cutting back, but these CP deals are just too good.

That said it comes at a price, the syncing to keep every platform in line with each other takes time. There are trade offs for every feature we all

  • Re: OSX 10.8

Ok, that makes sense now. It was ported via WINE, not X11, that's what was confusing me. In that case, you're definitely right that Logos couldn't use the same technique, WINE chokes on WPF (among other things). On another note, I definitely agree with your sentiments about Mono and Logos not behaving as a "good citizen" on the Mac. There's a lot more

[quote user="R. If it's the latter issue, that's not a problem. I was able to get WORDsearch working again

  • Re: Listing Bibles in order of translation philosophy

Besides Graham's additions, I would characterize Lexham as more literal than the ESV. I would also add the NRSV to the list, probably just above the ESV (but definitely below NASB and LEB). Keep in mind, of course, that word-for-word doesn't necessarily correspond to accuracy in transmitting meaning.

  • Re: Other Online bookstores

There are workarounds to get Kindle books into Logos as Personal Book files, but they're all rather tedious. Compared to Logos resources the tagging is also lacking, but compared to Vyrso I don't think you'll see a difference.
