  • Re: Vulgar title on prepub

I will not -- by principle -- support monetarily an author that uses inappropriate language to be provocative, trendy, or marketing savvy. A Christian author who thinks he/she has something to say to the Church yet apparently does not understand that this is not appropriate is already showing that they lack the spiritual maturity to teach others. This

Can someone help me understand how we can deploy the wealth of tools we have in Logos to find all possible meanings for Eph 4:29; 5:4?

  • Re: BUG: Paul the disobedient

The first screenshot shows where English word suggestions end and it is followed by Hebrew suggestions. The second shows that there is nothing more past the Hebrew words (ergo, there are no Greek suggestions). The suggestions are strictly based on phonetics resembling the English word searched for, not lemmas that translate it.

  • BUG: Paul the disobedient

I started a search this am with the word obey in the NASB within the Pauline Epistles. I was surprised to see that after the list of suggestions populated, there were only Hebrew lemmas suggested, no Greek lemmas.

  • Re: Anchor Bible Dictionary

You're right BillS in that NICOT is a confessional resource whereas ABD is not. There are pros and cons to both (being confessional or non-confessional). Confessional resources are more faith-friendly but can be theologically biased to the detriment of the a more objective presentation of information. On the other hand, non-confessional often hardly

  • Re: BUG: Annotation text vagaries

As I observed today, this happens also after a Bible reference is recognised and automatically formatted as link: the text is subsequently size 11 from 12 that it was before.

I don't think reconcialition would be considered a must-have topic in Biblical Studies as it is in ministry or would be in theology.

  • BUG: Annotation text vagaries

The size of the default font changes when one uses bullets (and perhaps in other scenarios). For instance, my default size is 12. When I paragraph down for a bullet, it changes to 11. I can understand that perhaps it was thought that bullet point text should be a lower size font to indicate some form of subordination of thought but then one would expect

There is so much knowledge packed in this resource... and it is still largely current despite its age. I've been contemplating reading it through (one article a day) as a fruitful exercise to increase one's biblical knowledge.

  • Re: Am I missing the obvious? Hebrew vs. Aramaic

Another method, which is not a direct indication in the interlinear text but nevertheless does take advantage of the morph tagging in the text, is this: 1) Open the information pane and set it to click, not hover 2) Under definition, go under settings, remove all language but aramaic 3) Make sure the definition section is not collapsed When you click

  • Crashes and last used layout

I seem to recall that there are temporary snapshots that one can save as layout in the layout menu from time to time. But it seems that those are purged when the app crashes. This is really too bad cuz that would be handy to recover what one was doing quickly... I know I can use history as a workaround, although it opens to the last section, not the

  • Re: Why the Repeated, Sequential Indexing?

Not to downplay in any way the legitimate frustrations here... mine being -- like MJ's -- more with the autopopulate lists, but it also takes quite a long time for Windows to rebuild its search index and it's search is not even that effective in the end. My question is whether the now defunct Bibleworks or the current Accordance offer a similar level

  • Make last used annotation style notebook specific

I have asked this a long time ago but I am asking again: Would it be possible to have the last used annotation style (icon colour and shape, highlighting style) be remembered for each notebook? I don't know what systems others use to differentiate their notebooks, but I certainly use style to do so (e.g., Bible notes = yellow, Articles/Books notes
