John, I looks like your nlog.config is the default that ships with the product. Here's one that provides us a lot more debugging information. If you would be so kind as to save this file over your nlog.config file in Library/Application Support/Logos4/Logging that would be very helpful. Jack, It also looks like you have a reading plan on "The tabernacle: shadows of the Messiah" that might be causing the problems. Thanks to your log, we just found and fixed a bug that occurred if Reading Plan view was opened in L4 Windows and you open up L4 Mac. Since we don't have Reading Plan on Mac yet, we hadn't encountered that scenario. The bug
-
They might have been. I have seen some commits recently that fixed some potential bugs in the indexer, but I couldn't be sure if those were the issue or not. Hopefully, post A5 indexing will not be as painful as previous versions. Tom
-
Terry, It looks like your indexes are corrupt. Did you copy them from Windows, or were they built with L4 Mac? Unfortunately, there's no way to fix them, other than to rebuild them. To force reindexing, you'll need to delete the original indexes. You'll need to delete the files in your Library/Application Support/Logos4/Data/ /LibraryIndex/ folder which
-
Jack, Do you know what resource is giving the issue or is it any resource? Tom
-
John, Thanks for the log, but nlog.config is simply a logging configuration file. If you could attach your Logos4.log that would be much more helpful. Tom
-
David, Sorry about the crash. Way to go figuring out the issue, though. If you run into this issue again, please let us know. Although not all of the features are implemented yet on Mac, we try to be defensive about coding as we go so that unimplemented features don't crash the app when syncing from Windows to Mac. Tom

David, Preparing your library is not dependent on your internet speed. It is really only a factor of your library size and the power of your computer (RAM, processor and disk speed). Tom

Here's Alpha 6. The app should auto update, but you can always download the latest release from: http://downloads.logos.com/LBS4/LBS4MacInstaller/Logos4Mac.dmg In the last release we did a bit more stability work, in this release, we tried to do some polish to the user interface. As always, it's a work in progress, but we hope you are inspired by the

Mike, Did you get your issue resolved? Did the updated resources ever download for you? If that happens, you can safely "Cancel Downloads" from the menu if it gets stuck. It should restart the next time you restart Logos or when you next log in. I'll look at the downloader code to see if I can spot anything obvious that might cause it to hang. Tom
-
Clive, What collection do you have? I'm curious because I haven't seen this. I wonder if it's a specific resource that you have. Is this reproducible every time or just randomly? Thanks, Tom
-
Ah yes. Reproducible every time. We'll file a bug on this one. Thanks for reporting this. Tom
-
R. Mansfield, Due to the Mac product being in a pre-release state, we haven't finished writing all the code to load and display all the resource types that the Windows product currently supports. For example, you probably have resources for Biblical people, places and things, as well as timelines, which show up in your Windows library which will not
-
Mark, I'm sorry that you're having trouble with your library. Here's something to try that will force all your resources to be rediscovered: Open Library/Application Support/Logos4 under your user home directory. Under Logos4 your will see a Data folder. Inside of that you will see a folder with several random letters and numbers. Inside that folder

Theoretically, they should be, but in practice, the number of resources might differ since some resources are indexable on Windows that Mac doesn't handle yet. So you could have search results that do strange things if you simply use your Windows indexes. It's definitely not a supported configuration. Alpha 5 should have improved indexing performance
-
Bob, John, If you can reproduce the "not responding", please let us know. I noticed this last night on my machine at home, but was not able to reproduce it today. Tom

Vicent, Please try with Alpha 5. It should only run once to completion, but there were problems with previous alphas that consumed more memory than necessary. Alpha 5 should also greatly speed up indexing. In house tests show about a 2.5x to 3x speed improvement. Tom

Michael, We're adding sections to each of the guides as we can. No definite time frame, but when we make new stuff available, we'll put out new builds. Tom

I just noticed that Bible search results appears to be broken. We'll have a fix for this out in the morning.
