  • Re: 1) Why Logos and 2) Why Logos over Accordance

Doing a good comparison is gong to take time. You'll want to come up with a realistic set of use cases and try them on both. You'll also want to compare the resources available. My sense is that Logos has more resources, and a more flexible UI. It also feels heavier. I have both. I normally use Logos on my primary machine and Accordance on my laptop

At this point I think the Mac version of Logos is good enough that a virtual Windows version is no longer needed. (This is fairly recent.)

  • Re: rebuilding library

Well, the directory shown there doesn't exist, the list of files doesn't include the actual crash dump, and an attempt to attach a file to a posting here fails. But I've put something relevant in http://gene va.rutgers.edu/~hedrick/logos-crash.tar Starting with a blank startup didn't help. I'm back to rebuilding.

  • rebuilding library

Logos 4 has been crashing for me a couple of minutes after starting for the last couple of betas, even if I don't do anything. Since it's unlikely that it's doing this for everyone, I thought it might be worth trying to rebuild my library. Unfortunately I have 4 GB of data, so downloading it all is not attractive. Is there a way somehow to reimport

  • Re: Currently using Libronix, should I upgrade to L4 for Mac?

A couple of weeks ago I would have said yes, but the last couple of betas have started crashing consistently. I'd wait for things to stabilize. I'd expect that to happen fairly quickly.

But when I opened collections, I gave me a window with two panels, the first of which is favorites. And when I closed collections, the whole window closed.

Favorites doesn't open for me. No errors. Clicking on it in Tools has no observable effect.

Also, I've put my Bibles in a collection. When I open collections, I'd expect to be able to select one and have it open. But neither double click on return will do that. I've found that if I have a blank space somewhere I can drag the icon to it and the Bible will open, but that seems unnecessarily obscure.

  • Re: Alpha 20 is available

I'm still having trouble looking up references. If I open the NRSV and type Jeremiah, while I'm typing I get a popup that completes what I'm typing. If I click on the reference there, it works. But if I hit "reteurn" in the actual entry box, it doesn't work. That means I have to move to the mouse and do a selection, which seems completely unnecesary

  • search not working in 19.1

I don't get anything in either search bar: the one in the search tool or the bar at the top of a bible that would normally search for references. The bar seems to work. If I get a popup that recognizing what I'm typing, the search works for contents in the popup, but there's no response to "Return" when I'm typing in the bar.

  • classifying resources?

I've begun to accumulate enough resources that I need to stucture them. Is there some way to put them in groupings or folders? All the features I've been able to find that might do this seem not to be there yet.

  • Re: Bug:A13 - Bible search - Parallel bibles

this is going to be a pain. I tried installing logos on Windows 7. It told me to install DLSSetup.exe. That claimed to install update, but there was no obvious way to proceed once it was installed. I tried going into \program files (x86)\Libbroniix DLS\System and run update.exe. It complained error code 4, All servers were filtered out. This is getting

  • alpha 13 search doesn't work

In alpha 13 when I do a Bible search, nothing happens. I type the word in the bar and hit enter. It's as if I didn't hit enter.

  • bible search won't link to Bible (10a)

In previous alphas I could do simple BIble searches. In 10a I can't. verses: link to Bible works if the word shows in the search result. However only one line is displayed. For many verses the link appears late enough in the verse that it isn't in the first line. I suggest either * make the reference (e.g. "John 3:16") a link * show the whole verse

  • Re: Can I load windows to a Mac computer and use the windows version of Logos ???? HELP ME!!!

Most attacks these days are caused by users clicking on things they shouldn't. If you just run software such as Logos, and don't use Windows for your browsing and email, it's not likely to bring malware in.
