Any reason why Logos did not fully enable the cross-referencing for this particular resource?
Because FL is comfortable not fulfilling its marketing slogan about hyperlinked connectivity of library resources. The Word Commentary was added to Logos years before TDOT was, and so there was no way to link TDOT references

  • Re: Gospel or ευαγγελιον in OT

TWOT is in the fundamentally "neutral" camp while TDOT & TDNT are in the fundamentally "good" camp w/ regard to baa sar . Their approaches resemble "half empty" vs. "half full" disputation. Folks interested should consult, consider, and decide for themselves. A point not fully explored is the "zero sum" nature of the "news" in any given situation. In

Here is the summary of baa sar from TDOT...it seems to address your concern. The height attained in Trito-Isaiah would be complete if we could find in bśr the basis for the NT key word euangélion, “gospel” (to say something about the later history of this word). Unfortunately, the noun besorah is not used in Isa. 61:1, and we do not know which intermediate

  • Re: Prayers of the Bible Dataset Missing Several Prayers

These are exactly the kinds of issues that I would fully expect to crop up in any so-called "dataset". It is one reason why I rarely ever make use of them. I suppose they are fine if perceived and utilized as just one of multiple resource options, but there is a perception by both the producer (FL) and consumers (users) that these currated data collections

Just following the conversation...I am led to conclude that this used to be a WS book? If so, can't you read it in WS? I would be curious as to whether these issues are also found in WS.

  • Re: Gospel or ευαγγελιον in OT

In a book whose very purpose requires it to be glutted with prophecy and detail about the proper pattern of worship of the Creator God, it seems pretty nigh unto inevitable that every subject has a "religious" connotation. Of course, just what is meant by the term "religious" is (for well or ill) up for debate, since there are rubes galore who have

  • Potential problem in LHI

I am noticing in the Mobile app that in Lexham Hebrew Interlinear that there can be an overlap of descenders (various niq quudh ) on one line and ascenders (particularly the laa medh ) on following lines. For instance, I have noticed that a laa medh has the ability to make a se gohl appear to be a tsei rei' . The lines should have a couple of points

This has to get fixed NOW. All of it...text that gets pasted from a Bible should be the same font size as text that is typed into the text entry field. Right now text copied from inside the app gets pasted into notes in a larger font than the native text font. WHY???????

  • Re: Link to footnote

I might be wrong, but I think the answer is "no". However, there have been requests in the past to make footnotes more accessible and interactive like regular text. If I recall, there was some technical reason why it hasn't been implemented, but they were going to look into finding work-arounds. HOPEFULLY, THEY'RE MAKING PROGRESS...

I have no doubt that any translator would struggle with religious and ancient technical terms, but I also might already have a sense of what those words are and what they mean. I think I would know if it was returning unreliable garbage; plus, I'm not depending on it to help me give a speech at the United Nations. I just want to get a general sense
I'm not sure why this rarely occurs to people, but dispite what Judges repeatedly says ("there was no king over Israel"), the fact is, Yis:raa 'eil had a King...YHWH. The problem wasn't the lack of leadership. Rather, the problem was ignoring and disobeying the leadership of the King they had. When that's the root problem,

  • Re: SUGGESTION: Incorporate a language translation function in Logos

Kind of surprised that this suggestion only got one supportive comment. I assume folks have and use TDNT, for instance, which is totally glutted with untranslated passages of Greek. Do folks have no interest in knowing what is being said there? Or is everyone a Greek scholar besides me? The same goes for Latin, German, French, and many other languages

I have used L3 side-by-side with L4-9 for years and appreciate the options it affords. As I am finally contemplating weaning myself away from L3, I think downloading Verbum may be a good way of keeping that side-by-side option going. Thanks for the idea.
