Poolesville, Maryland, USA. It's a tiny rural place about 30 minutes above Washington, DC. I'm tying up ends here to move. I am a retired nurse, currently employed as a database analyst for a non-profit. I am restless, waiting to see what my real calling is now that I am back in the Word and listening to God's voice again. Neither my occupation nor

  • Re: Cascadia Syntax Graphs of the New Testament

I did call sales...and I did have to upgrade to get Cascadia...which I did! :-) And, no, there was no additional discount from what was listed for Silver upgrade... :-( The Logos 4 intro sale is over.

I appreciate all the work you all put into Logos as staff and users so my experience is just about effortless. I get so many blessings from my time in The Word. May the Lord bless your work and your day!

  • Re: Don't Forget to Check Your Pre-Pubs

Happy birthday, Daniel! I have two books coming out next month, total $10. I am trying to stay away from book purchases because I am working on getting a passport to take my first out of country mission trip!! I'm very excited.

I would like to go to Haiti the day after Christmas if I can get my passport and paperwork done. Either way, I'm also planning to go to Nicaragua in February for my birthday. They are both 8 day trips.

  • Re: No love for Cascadia Syntax graphs?

I was so excited to add the NT graphs when I started using the Greek videos...and was completely put out that I had to upgrade to get what I needed instead of buying the one item I was looking for. I think that's a good part of why I won't spend another chunk of money on these. I have what I need ( and MORE ) right now. I have my daily devotional and

You're right. You never know when you've touched a life for good! And you guys have forced me to go buy the recommended book with Guthrie's Hebrews commentary. :-)

Donn, Thanks for your post because it prompted me to order the Pillar yesterday. I'm studying Hebrews right now so the timing is great. Now, if they would just release it...

  • Growing strong in the Word this last year

This week marks the one year anniversary of my Logos purchase. I started with Logos 3's Christian Home Library, which I upgraded three days later to the Bible Study Library to get interlinears. During those few days I set up a bible reading plan and began the first daily scripture study in decades and I was enjoying it! Barely a week later I upgraded

  • Re: Prayer list: Partial answers?

You can put the response in as the answer, create a new item with a note that part was answered and use that new one to go forward. You can add a tag to both so you know they are tied together. This will probably sound dumb and hopefully not irreverent but that is how I handle software bug and enhancement tickets that find some resolution but are not

  • Re: Top Three Pre-Pubs and why

I only have four total! Catena Aurea: Commentary on the Four Gospels by Thomas Aquinas (8 Vols.) The Christian's Daily Walk George Müller Collection (12 Vols.) The Gospel Mystery of Sanctification No particular order and I think they were all community pricing because my total is about $39. And, no, I don't follow directions very well! :-) Peace, Kaey

  • Re: In the cluster graph...

If you use the 3D view it will show you at the bottom "x of y words in common" and "% difference". I don't find it much help but I'm sure someone has a valid use for it. :-)

  • Re: Errors

You know, I've been a short term customer with Logos, having come in as a user right before Logos 4 was released but I've noticed two things about the company: 1) They tend to rush products to the user group before they are production quality, maybe partly because of pressure from us. 2) They listen to their user group and fully stand behind what they

  • Resources

Johnny, I am trying to find the "Cascadia Syntax Graphs for New Testament" that you are using in one of your lessons but I don't see that resource in Products. I found a few other Cascadia items in Pre-Pub. I have the Scholar package so it wasn't included. Would it be possible, once the rush dies down over correcting any DVD issues, to get a page listing

  • Re: Library / Resource SUBJECT meta data

Yeah, I don't see that they will be too helpful. Not all resources have them and there's no way to ensure they are accurate with the history of metadata mistakes. If they were all cleanly tagged and we had a lookup list of the values I might like it. If not, I'd rather Logos remove them and keep all of the metadata clean and accurate. Kaye

220 numbers are all "Bible" in the Dewey Decimal System. Maybe it's that? http://www.nationalbiblecollege.org/NBCS_Library_Call-Numbers.htm

  • Re: Library / Resource SUBJECT meta data

The latest version of the system is a catalog in 4 volumes, also available as an online service. I think to get down to the level you are interested in, there is a subscription required that would give you credentials to log into the online site. Otherwise, you can find some of them, hit and miss, by internet search like Google. http://www.oclc.org

I agree about Steve being a valuable resource. Even to someone very new to Greek his insights are so helpful. I've been hooked since the first video clip I watched.
