• Search is highlighting the wrong words

I am doing a Bible search and in the grid view and the Bible view (after clicking on the passage link) the wrong words are being highlighted. I've seen this before when a Bible resource was out of date but it's happening for ESV and NASB and in both cases it is highlighting the same incorrect place. I'm running Logos 5 on a Mac. When I enter Update

  • Re: Seach Logos.com and vyrso.com simultaneously

That is a helpful workaround! Thanks! It returns the results in Google rather than the prettier Logos search page (with images, prices, and awareness of my current library) but it solves the problem nicely while we wait for a solution from Logos. Given that they are only going to product some suggested results rather than full results I'm think that

  • Seach Logos.com and vyrso.com simultaneously

Does anyone else find themselves constantly searching Logos and Vyrso for a resource? Has anyone come up with a way to search both sites at once? I get that they tend to be different types of books and most of the time it's fairly easy to tell which site a book would likely be on, but when it's not on the expected site I still find myself searching

Hey! That seems to have worked. I'm able to load the app and some resources. Thanks!

  • Crash on startup- Logos 5 for Mac

Logos crashes for me on startup. Actually, it crashes as soon as I try to open any resource in my library. Initially it was on startup but when I loaded Logos on my PC and closed everything, now Logos will start on my Mac, but crashes when I attempt to open something. I've attached my log file. 2072.LogosLogs.newuser1.20130711-235808.zip

Well for some reason I'm not able to post screen shots to the forum. They appear to work in the preview but aren't showing up. Hopefully my explanation is good enough without them.

It seems the PC screen shot didn't come through. Here it is:

  • Passage list printing issues with Mac (vs. the PC)

I run Logos on both Windows and the Mac. Most of my work is done on the Mac version, but when I want to print a passage list, I have to do it from my PC because the Mac version doesn't seem to handle the formatting correctly. I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong. (I'm showing this in v5, but the same issue happens in v4). Note the screen shot

  • select a single word for highlighting

I'm doing my first Precept study in Logos and I'm finding it difficult to select a single word for highlighting. According to the help I should be able to double click a word to select it. Instead, this takes me to another resource (key link?). I can right click but that give me the context menu which is pretty annoying. I'm hoping for a very quick

  • Re: Taking Notes

I guess I can see where that would be useful. I find the 4 finger swipe to switch apps works more than sufficiently for me. This gives me a full page for scripture and a full page for notes in apps that are designed specifically to do what they do best. Alternatively, if it's a reasonably short passage, I will often paste the passage into Evernote.

  • Re: Taking Notes

There are a lot of really good note taking apps. I don't understand why you would want to have notes in Logos unless they are keyed to part of your library. Am I missing something?

  • Re: Group Passage Observation logistics

I'll look at it. I have an iPad and our church has large screen TV's equipped with AppleTV's so it's technical feasible. I have used a couple of PDF annotation apps and found them clumsy. I feel like it needs to be almost as easy as paper and pencil in order to not get in the way.

  • Group Passage Observation logistics

I'm planning on leading an inductive Bible study this summer for about 10 people. I'm looking for a way to do the group observation step... hopefully that doesn't require me to write out the passage on a white board. Does anyone have ideas on how to do this? I've thought about projecting the passage onto the board and printing the passage on flip chart

  • Create a powerpoint from a passage list

Perhaps there is something I'm missing, but I don't see a built in means for doing this. I have a passage list and I want to export it to powerpoint... each passage appearing on a separate slide. Any ideas on how to accomplish this? I don't mind writing some VBA is necessary but I'm hoping someone else has already figured out an easy way to do this

  • Re: Mixing personally purchased books and books purchased by your church

Thanks for the help guys. The issue was caused by a misunderstanding between my friend and the accounting group. More correctly, it's really the first time they have had to deal with the question of what to do with electronic resources. I don't believe he has a "book budget" per se but there was certainly no ill intent on his part either. I guess I

  • Mixing personally purchased books and books purchased by your church

A friend of mine recently ran into the following issue. He has his own copy of Logos with a rather extensive library. He has recently gone on staff at a church and had now purchased books using the church's credit card and added them to his library. Now the accounting staff at the church is having issues because the books officially belong to the church

  • Re: Apple TV

Yes, and it works quite well. I teach using my iPad2 and Keynote over Airplay to an AppleTV connected to a large TV. It works so well that I've considered purchasing a 2nd Apple TV unit to carry around in my backpack.

  • Re: Notes on iPad?
You can't read over 2,000 of the books in my Logos library on Olive Tree or YouVersion. For my purposes, Logos on the iPad far outshines anything else, and it didn't cost me anything. But that is just me.
Not precisely true. Those iOS app developers are getting paid by your product purchases. I think it would be
