[quote user="GregW"] [quote user="David Wanat"] And... adding insult to injury, I now have to download my whole library again (5.6gb). As I said, not happy with the whole affair. Well, it's broke on Verbum. Crashes when I try to load. Going to try to get the old one back from Time Machine. NOT happy about this, as it worked fine before this downloaded. Moral of the story... turn off the automatic download :( EDIT: It's really broken. Says I can't use the previous version and have to download the core again. Here's hoping that

  • Re: Question on Surface 3 with Verbum/Logos

OK, thanks for explaining that. I was concerned that having a full version would mean it would have to be read like it would on a laptop.

[quote user="Alex Renn"] It looks like the Surface 3 does, indeed, run full windows, which means you would get the same experience as on your desktop. From there, it sounds like you're looking for the "reading view" in the panel menu (press F11 on your desktop). Does that seem like it will accomplish what you're looking for? Or do you have more specific

OK, I'm seeing comments on how it works vs. a laptop replacement. But how about as a tablet replacement? I have an old Galaxy Tab 2 and have been thinking of switching to a newer tablet. But given I have some moral issues with Apple right now, I was wondering how this one would stack up against an iPad Air 2 or the like.

  • Question on Surface 3 with Verbum/Logos

I need to replace my tablet, but I'm having some moral issues with Apple at the moment and am looking for alternatives to the iPad Air 2. I was told to look into the Surface 3 (not pro). Of course the whole deal for me is if it will run Verbum/Logos. From looking around the forums here, I have seen the full version is supposed to run on this. But what

  • [resolved] Selecting Which Resources to Use.

OK, I don't know the proper term for the tool in use here: Using the Catholic Lectionary, I clicked on the reading Acts 9:1-20 and got a lot of windows opened up. I don't need all of that however. But I can't find out how to control what resources pop up. Can anyone help me find where to look? Here's a screenshot as to what I am talking about.

  • Re: Bug? The New Dictionary of Theology Does not Allow Copying

I found it useful too over the years. I remember that library collection being my first Catholic purchase back when the company was called "Libronix". (My first ever purchase was a piece of remaindered Libronix bible software I found in a used bookstore--I got it because it was the only one which had the NAB in it). I wonder how different my writing

Actually, it is that NDTHEO product. I guess I didn't know it was no longer available. And suddenly this morning I could copy/paste so I guess it was a glitch on my Mac. Apologies for the false alarm

Like the title says, the Verbum product "The New Dictionary of Theology" does not allow copy/paste. Is this a bug? or is it intended

  • Breaking the Index

It seems like when we get a new patch, I have to do another /rebuild index. It's kind of annoying when I do a search and get 0 results--even when the word is "God" or "Jesus." It wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the fact that even with a SSD it takes so long to index the whole library.

  • Toggling Community Notes?

I find the community notes icons and the notations of "X people highlighted this" distracting. Is there a way to turn them off and only activate them when I need them? Turning "Show Community Notes" to "No" doesn't seem to change anything. Any ideas?

  • Question on Catholic Study Bible

Regarding this product: https://verbum.com/products/30984/catholic-study-bible-2nd-ed How exactly does this work? I know the print version had both the NAB and the extra notes in it. Does this product work more like a commentary? Trying to make a decision on whether to get or not. Thanks.

  • LogosCEF Revisited

I know that the forums have said that LogosCEF not responding on Mac was merely an oddity, but I have recently noticed that when it crashes, it puts a huge drain on my memory (spinning beachball) which disappears when I force quit Verbum. My system should be in my sig file.

  • Re: Encyclopedia Britannica for Noet is here

Wow, 7 pages, and when it comes to buying, I just have to say... I still have no idea. Getting a full encyclopedia for $100 is a good idea, but I'm not sure if the product offered here is the product I think I need. Getting it at full price is out of course. I guess with the question mark in my mind, I'll just have to pass. If I had more time to decide

  • Re: Suggestion for Dynamic Pricing--Papal Encyclicals

Actually, it was more along the lines of the individual collections for Paul VI have the encyclicals bundled with the Apostolic letters etc. If I want to buy them, I'll be paying for encyclicals in that set in addition to buying them in the 1740-1981 set.
