I am not big on social groups, actually I can't be in crowds at all. I belong to a little church that has about a dozen people on Sunday. Nobody else there uses Logos. I think there are a couple of PC Study Bible people there. Outside of the people there that I see on Sunday and on Weds I don't usually see anyone else except for when I go to the store

  • Disappointed

I have the Scholar's package on Logos 4 and have added some free resources and a set of paid books. I know this thing is capable of doing a lot but I am very frustrated with it. Maybe it is just the Mac interface, but I am about to just give up using this altogether. I have used L3 before and was able to find things in searches with that but in L4,

I don't suppose anyone has links to the unofficial and official videos.... as i said I can't find anything. I thought I had it bookmarked but somehow I managed to botch that up too. If there is no way possible to break something, give it to me. Trust me, in an hour... it will be toast. @@

Thank you. Much appreciated. I got those pesky lectionaries gone finally. There were more than just the one..... I had Catholic and UMS and Episco and Lutheran and something else in there... a whole slug of them... no wonder I had so much junk coming up on my screen trying to search for a passage. Eventually I will figure out how to get a search window

  • Re: Android or iPad

I just stumbled over this in my debate as to keeping my Kindle Fire or getting a larger device. I currently own a Macbook Air but have considered getting something more portable. It's got 5 hours of battery life and it runs Logos with no problems on the 4 gigs of ram and dual core I5 it comes with. It's sealed and you can't upgrade it, though. Much

I did that once years ago teaching a Sunday school lesson. Now, everybody turn in their Bibles to Second Hezekiah..... I heard a LOT of flipping and quite a few people sitting there with big grins....... This brought me to the topic at hand. Learning your Bible. First thing we need to do is to know what books there are in it and where they are located

I saw that book but I think he is using the NRSV. I wanted to do something with this in church and if it is not in the KJV, I dare not bring it through the doors. I was hoping that with the thousands I have invested in two Bible software programs that one of them could do this for me. I'll just have to manually type in all of the first three letters

Awesome! Thanks! I don't have Excel but I do have Libre Office. I never use spreadsheets for anything so I am not up on the latest commands but even a dummy like me can use this list. Thank you. Randy... a few swift clicks and regex... what's a regex? I know what a text editor is but not sure what a regex is. I can do a few command line things in linux

I have 5. Thank you. They seem to have done to this what MS did when they butchered Word in 2007. That awful ribbon thing. I haven't used it since. In that list, I am missing a few things. I'll add them. Not sure but I know that Psalms is not there and there are some others I can't put my finger on. I am not a programmer so I don't know what mysterious

  • Re: Upgrading

I did have a look at Silver... 272 dollars. One thing that is bugging me is that the new to you feature on there is WRONG. I HAVE the New American Commentary and another one they say I don't have. I got it in a package along the way, I think it went with the Platinum upgrade. I suppose if there was somebody I could call and ask, that might help but

Will, I am not a really advanced user. I probably use a tenth of what Logos could do as I don't do a lot of in-depth word studies and am just starting to learn Greek and Hebrew. I have BDAG and HALOT in Accordance and with the 2500 I put in there, I figure I have something that will help me work with Greek and Hebrew and day to day Bible studies pretty

  • Re: Official: Minimum Crossgrade and free engine download are coming!

Robin, I would suggest that you give the good folks at Logos a call first thing tomorrow when they are open. They are quite reasonable and if you voice your concerns over this, they might be willing to make arrangements with you regarding all of this uncertainty. If you spend a certain amount of time going over the lists of things you will get with

  • Re: 5.0a Service Release 1 ( available for download

In the command line box, type in Update now. That should get it to check the server again and download the update all over again. You can also just shut down the program and open it back up again. I had a corrupt download once and that took care of it.

  • Re: Logos 7 Price and Discount Calculator

Thanks for the tool but it doesn't work. I put in all the numbers but it isn't pulling the full price of the package I want. I don't know much about spreadsheets other than to be smart enough to avoid ever using them. :-) I will just stop where I am at on the upgrade. I hope that there isn't a similar problem with the software that the sales folks use

I know that the Windows version uses the .net framework What does the mac version use? Perhaps it would be easier to get the Mac version to run on linux/bsd as the underpinnings of Mac started life as BSD.

Addiction? I'm only 5500 in the hole right now... I can quit any time I want to... errrr... OK.. so perhaps I spend a bit too much on my Bible software....I owe Accordance too. It isn't really an's a lifestyle...yeah that's it. LOL

I have a Nook HD plus right here and the app store they have at BN is a JOKE. There is NOTHING in it. I will be throwing this back over the counter tomorrow and demanding a refund. You can't sideload anything on it. I've tried for several hours now. Also, you can't root devices anymore. At least in WA state, it is now illegal to root any device. I'm

I downgraded to Silver in 5 from Platinum in 4. For a limited time, I can still go higher with the same deal I had before. Over all, so far I don't see a huge difference. Flashier interface and some changes in the way it does things but it is still pretty cumbersome and difficult to use. I was hoping for more but I am not disappointed in what I got

[quote user="R. Mansfield"] I guess I feel the opposite of your position in regard to translations, too. I consider the newer ones to be more accurate and more informed by the actual documentary evidence. Incidentally, I teach primarily from the HCSB on Sundays, but not for the reasons you describe. There are some portions in English Bibles that I would
