• Collection of Study Bibles in custom Passage Guide

Hello Quite a while ago I created a collection of study bibles using the rule (type:"bible notes") and manually adding two additional titles. I've also been using a custom passage guide in which I've added this collection as a section of the commentary type. Just now I discovered that this section of my passage guide never show up more than six results

  • Re: Personal Book Builder - milestones don't work

Hello Scott My experience from compiling Swedish PB's is that Logos will not recognize English-language bible-milestones. When compiling books and setting the language to Swedish I have to use Swedish names for bible books in all bible-milestones or common Swedish abbreviations for bible books. The same is true if I want the compiler to discover bible

  • Re: PB: add a PB for your Files (e.g. Clippings, Notes, PL, etc)

Hello Steve Great idea Steve! But how did you do it? Do you open each and every file and then "copy location as hyperlink" and paste in Word, or is there a simpler method?

  • Re: Questions PBB
- Can the compiler be teached to catch Bible verses that doesn't use the default English abbreviations of the Biblical books used by Logos? Is there some code I could add in the beginning of the document (for example Finnish abbreviations like 1.Moos.=Gen, 2.Moos.=Ex, etc.)? Or if there's no book mentioned but just the chapter

  • Re: Re-editing PB requires restart?

Same problem here. I don't see any definite pattern. It mostly works with the file still open in Word. I sometimes delete the docx-files from the "Body files"-section and then add them again. But even doing this I will sometimes get failed compilations. So I usually just close and restart Logos. Then it usually works for 2-4 rebuildings before "crashing

  • PBB: Deleted PB is still around

I've searched the forum and the wiki but can't find an answer to this one. I've compiled a number of PBs. I've deleted some and they are gone. However, there is one of my deleted PB's which is not visible in the PB panel but which still is available in the library and still appears in searches. Is this a bug? How do I go about completely deleting the

do you have a complete list of Swedish abbreviations for Bible books recognised by Logos (incl variants)?
You can discover that by copying a book's location with Ctrl+Alt+C (using URL or WIKI method) and then pasting.
Thanks Dave. However, using that method with any of my five

  • Re: PBB: Language of bible milestones
I haven't tested but I think Logos depends on your OS language setting. When you choose language in the PB dialog it has nothing to with in what way Logos interpret the milestone tags.
Thanks Ebbe and others! Very useful link, Ebbe. I've downloaded your txt-file. However, I DO think it matters what language you

  • PBB: Language of bible milestones

I'm a Swedish user using the English UI. I find it easier. I've been given permission and access to docx-files containing preaching material from Svensk Pastoraltidskrift. I'm compiling the material as type Bible Commentary. In the PBB dialog I choose Swedish for language which is great because Logos, when compiling, auto-detects most Swedish language

Thank you for the link to the Sistine Chapel. I've been to the Vatican Museum twice and the chapel is outright awesome! Plus it's where the cardinals gather when they are to elect a new pope. However, the chapel is much more peaceful and serene on the internet than in real life. So many people squeezing to get in and guards yelling out every other minute
Mac or PC? You should tell Logos. It shouldn't be crashing. Or do you mean it's freezing up? (A crash is when the program stops and goes away completely) I experienced some crashes while trying out different things to get my filter to work, but I couldn't narrow down the cause. I may have to see if I can get it to crash

Great work Todd I just tried it. Unfortunately Logos repetadely just crashes for a couple of seconds on and off, on and off. I had to turn the visual filter off.

  • Re: Cornerstone Biblical Commentary

Hello I've also been considering the Cornerstone commentary series but judging from the brief introductions to the series it seems to be pretty similar to the Tyndale Commentaries series (49 volumes in all). I own this series and use it quite a lot. Cornerstone appears to be written from a similiar perspective and theological outlook. Is this the case

Hello Dave I had a somewhat similar problem. Maybe this is of no help but: - did you accidentally interrupt the download? I did because I had to log off at church to go home. This was the start of problems for me. - I was also stuck downloading (although my download was som e 900MB not the mentioned 44 MB) and, very odd, at the same time Logos reported
I like the way Logos does things. Of course, I also like getting discounts. It seems to me that you are only anger at this system because you feel you have been ripped off. However, just because you could have gotten a better price doesn't mean the price you paid was unfair or a rip off.
Joshua, Don't misinterpret

I'm sorry to say, but having read this weekends hottest thread:"Black Friday - Cyber Monday 2010" I've learnt something new and very disturbing (and I'm not a new Logos user). Calling a sales rep (instead of using the website) apparently means you often get a discount. Not because you're buying a whole bunch of resources (in which case it would make
