  • Re: Wright on Pre-Pub and the Origins series

I've read some books by Wright but none of the books in the "For everyone"-series. What are they like? Judging from the number of pages they come in as mid-level commentaries. Or? Are they geared towards application? Are they useful in sermon preparation? Or rather more useful in the context of a bible study group? Similarly for the three-volume "Twelve

Thank you very much Rick! I read your reply only just now. I would never have been able to figure out that search string. I now also made a visual filter. Great!

James, thank you very much for pointing me to that link. It will be interesting reading. And a big thank you to Weiland Willker for sharing! Great work!

  • SBLGNT - How do I find the 540 variations?

The information-page for the recently released SBLGNT says: "Thus, the existence of an alternative critical text—the SBLGNT differs from the standard text in more than 540 variation units—will help to remind readers of the Greek New Testament that the text-critical task must continue" I assume "standard text" refers to the NA/UBS. It would be most interesting

I'm a pastor in the Lutheran Church of Sweden. Since five years back I lead a parish that is set in a very multicultural and multifaith suburb of Stockholm (yes, there are both Eritreans and Ethiopians in our church among many other nationalities). Before that my wife and I worked as missionaries within the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania for

  • Re: Can I have foot notes in passage list?

Or, if you find it easier: once the text is selected in the Power Look up-window you can just click it, drag it and drop it on top of an existing Passage List. That will add all the references to the PL. Pretty amazing, if you ask me.

  • Re: Can I have foot notes in passage list?

Actually there's a slightly easier way. You don't have to go via the clipboard. Once you have highlighted the text, as described by Graham, you can open a new or already existing Passage list and just select the "Add ... selected text". You will still end up with double instances but provided your passage list is sorted it's quite quick to delete the

  • Re: How do you get useful search results from monographs in Passage Guide?

Alright. Thanks for sharing your insights. The idea of sorting useful monographs by assigning them a higher star rating is useful. I'll try it as I add more monographs to that specific collection. By "browsing options" I mean the options that appear when clicking the little triangel that sits just to the left of the up and down arrows to the right on

  • How do you get useful search results from monographs in Passage Guide?

Hello There are a some monographs that really would benefit from being tagged and indexed as bible commentaries. If they were the Passage guide would return more useful and relevant results. Personally I'm particulary thinking of two resources: "Jesus in Context: Background readings for Gospel Study" and "Preaching from the Lectionary: An Exegetical

  • Re: Missing data for "series"

I have it too. Great! Now I'm hoping that the identical problem with the NIBC-commentary (launched in March) will also be dealt with. There are two volumes ("Revelation" and "1 and 2 Peter, Jude") in the NIBC that still don't have the series-tag.

  • Re: Missing data for "series"

Lawrence, It doesn't work for me either. I've restarted Logos several times but the two volumes still have no series-tag. I have the exact same issue with another commentary-set, the NIBC where two volumes ("Revelation" and "1 and 2 Peter, Jude") also miss the metadata for the series (New International Biblical Commentary). I bought this series as it

  • Missing data for "series"

Hello I noticed that the two new volumes of the "Opening Up" commentaries that came alive today (Acts and Galatians) lack the metadata for the series. Hence I had to assign them my "expository"-tag in order for them to be included in that commentary collection. I believe there is a place to report missing or incorrect metadata but I can't remember where

Hello again Bryan The new setup file worked fine and I'm now on 4.0d SR-1. I've tried locating the logos4setup.log in order to post it to you but I just can't find it. I've looked in the temp-folder where the logfiles seem to be put but there is nothing new there nor anywhere else. If you want the log-file, could you advise me how to find it? In any

Hello again The new setup file worked wonderfully! Thank you ever so much. I'm now on 4.0d and busy downloading almost 2GB of downloads. Below are two files attached, the setup.log and a library.installer.log. I hope they will be useful to you. Thank you very, very much for looking into the problem and solving it in such a short time! Great work! Andreas

Hello again Yes, it might be that any pointers to "my documents"-folder are redirected. Whenever I dock my laptop in church I'm connetcted to our network and "my documents" are saved to a server. However the "My documents"-folder is supposed to sync and mirror itself to the harddrive of my laptop. This is not a new set up but has been my computers'

Hello Bryan I sure appreciate your effort and quick reply! You were right that the folder Logos Log Files were in the temp-folder. I've now managed to locate some log files. I hope they may be illuminating. 0564.logos4setup.log Most recent one. 7433.logos4setup[1].log Biggest one. 0488.logos4setup.log Oldest one. Thanks!
