FYI, an email I just sent to Gabe. Gabe, I note that both Fortress and Amazon are selling "Paul and the Faithfulness of God" separately from "Pauline Perspectives." Would you please raise the question internally whether Logos could do the same? Thank you. Dennis Parish

There are several Orthodox Study Bible projects. I eagerly await the EOB project's completion. The OP referred specifically to the Thomas Nelson product; my comments are relevant only to that edition. I think it is currently the only one on the market. One major criticism is that the New Testament is based on the Received Text manuscripts, not the Byzantine

The Orthodox Study Bible (Nelson) has been criticized by many Orthodox, both for the translation (OT is from an evangelical Anthiochian Orthodox group formed in 1976; NT is NKJV) and for the lack of reference to the Church Fathers in the note commentary (but Logos probably would omit the notes and commentary when publishing this study Bible). I bought

On a more general level, a good amillinial overview of apocalyptic literature is In God's Time, by Craig C. Hill. Addressed to pastors and laity, it carries endorsements by Jurgen Moltmann, John J. Collins, Eugene Peterson, Graham Stanton, Luke Timothy Johnson, Pheme Perkins, and Walter Brueggemann. Not in Logos.

for Text this Week link (although it covers Catholics and the Mainline denominations more than the Evangelicals and Pentacostals)

What kind of business doesn't use a telephone message to tell customers when they've closed down and when they will reopen?

Phil, IMHO, Amazon sets the expectation for online book buyers. That is simply a fact. As much as it can, Logos should follow Amazon's purchasing page flow. That means using option 2. This also would have avoided neglecting the Verbum purchasers.

Just saying: Doesn't your discount go down if you raise the resource value to $979? That is why I think the other variables are at play. I suspect what you call the library resource value really isn't, but is something else. I still think the attention should be on what we actually know, the retail upgrade price and the custom discount. All the best

Jeff, Windows 8 Professional includes an emulator for windows 2000- winXP. I am using it in Win7 to run Libronix and the New Interpreters Dictionary and Bible Commentary (in Folios) and it works great!
-
Steve, I think there are more variables at play here than you have in your formula. But I'll suggest one possible answer to your question using the data you have. The " value of credit for your current library" is = "sum of $ of books you already own that are in the upgrade package " X (a credit factor for current owners; let's ignore that for now)

Until the Verbum compare web page obtains parity with the Logos compare web page, you might be able to determine what's new by comparing the Verbum web page to the info at http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:P4J_d4r66l4J:www.logos.com/catholiccomparison+&cd=2&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us .

I bought the Original Languages then later upgraded to the Catholic Scholars as the least expensive way to cover the areas of my interests. Logos sometimes has sales on upgrades.

You can search their academic catalog by authors or subjects at www.bakeracademic.com. In my opinion they are more academic than IVP academic, and are a top source for English translations of German publications. Academic usually means non-denominational. Addendum: Baker Academic's self description: Baker Academic serves the academy and the church by

None are in Logos, but these were my keys for hearing the Sermon within (and against) the historical culture: Honor and Shame in the Gospel of Matthew , Jerome H. Neyrey, WJK (1998), Part 3. Neyrey's essay, " Honoring the Dishonored: The Cultural Edge of Jesus' Beatitudes " is an earlier, briefer reading. NT Wright's essay, " The Lord's Prayer as a
