  • Re: Windows or ios

In general, given the current state of machines, I prefer Windows. I have a macbook pro and a lenovo x1 carbon both sitting on my desk, and I use both almost daily. I've had both on my desk since around 2000 (before that, my primary desktop was a Sun Workstation, a Xerox Star, and a CP/M system). In my experience, things have flipped flopped over the

I've killed my personal Christian blog, I'm moving my writing on that side to STS. For the moment, I've put the files for this one here -- http://riw.us/logos-pb/Arab%20Theologians%20on%20Jews%20and%20Israel.docx http://riw.us/logos-pb/arab-theologians-on-israel.jpg I'll eventually reorganize the pb's I have on that site. Just need to find the time

Y'all -- I have a ton of tags I've used over the years... I've kindof lost track of what I've used for what. Does anyone know of a way to output a list of all the tags you have assigned to resources? Russ

I've just pulled in the works of Barth on sale -- there is one commentary I can find in the set on Luke -- The Great Promise. I'm thinking this should probably go under expository, but I'm not certain. Any ideas? Russ

  • Re: Hiding Notes Files

Thanks for this suggestion... I think I'm going to go another route, though -- I think I'll just push all my notes to OneNote, so I only have book specific notes in Logos. But while I'm asking -- does anyone know of a way to export an entire notes file into something like a Word doc? :-) Russ

My answer is going to be different than the other folks here -- why would you want all your conversations recorded and sent to a data center for processing? We've become so accustomed to this technology that even Barbie is doing it now -- but many corporate offices ban this sort of thing, as it picks up everything you say, not just what you intend it

  • Hiding Notes Files

Y'all -- I've been considering moving over to per book reading notes, but there is one problem -- given there's no way to organize notes files into folders/etc., this makes my documents a bit of a mess. Does anyone know of a way to "hide" a notes file so the notes show up, but the file doesn't show up in my documents list in Logos? Or any idea when

  • Re: How does Windows 10 and Continuum Impact the need to for a seperate Windows App?

Years of observation says that yes, there is a pro-MAC/anti-Windows bias at Faithlife... I wish it weren't true, but it definitely appears to be. This isn't uncommon in the engineering world, of course, even in network engineering (one of the founders of a large network engineering site just posted a comment or two saying "no-one who's serious uses

Roy -- Yes, I know about the 14 step method. What I've been asking for, for a very, very, very long time is a one step method. Someone from Faithlife said, a year or two ago, that a new option would be available to add the URL of the current location to the biblio when you copy and paste -- but this wasn't ever done. What I asked for in UserVoice was

  • Re: Clickable note links directly in Bible

I've been asking for this for ages... Particularly if it could link to an outside program, and not just within Logos (think of opening a Word doc, or a OneNote note, or an Evernote note, from a single click within Logos). This is a "matched pair" with another feature I've been asking for forever, was promised, and never seems to have been done -- the

  • Re: Moving Personal Books to a new machine

One thing that would be nice in this situation is some sort of command line to rebuild all your PB's. I store my PB files on a cloud drive, so they stay in the same place on every machine, but when I replace my machine, it's still painful to rebuild a couple of hundred resources by "editing" each one individually.

  • Re: What other note software do you use with logos?

I find OneNote useful -- I've tried Evernote in the past, but it's much more limited in it's formatting, depth of outlining, and it's interaction with Office at large. If you already own Office, or you subscribe to Office 365, then you already have OneNote. If you'd like more information, I'll be glad to pass along information. Russ

There is one problem with direct Evernote integration -- a lot of use OneNote. Instead, I'd prefer to see a set of features that would make it easier to work with any outside notes program, including the ability to have a link to the location in Logos included in the information copied to the clipboard when you do any copy in Logos. It could just be
