  • Re: A new type of pre-pub - it isn't in print yet!

Well, I just convinced myself to pre-order, even though now my pre-pub orders total more than I paid for Logos Platinum, I think. [:)

It looks like the definitive commentary on GJohn has just been published, the NICNT volume by J. Ramsey Michaels: http://newtestamentperspectives.blogspot.com/2010/10/j-ramsey-michaels-interview-part-i.html I hope the author of this upcoming Logos commentary series' JOHN will be able to interact with it.

[quote user="EricSWeiss"] There is a major audio problem with the Lesson Greek 7 - Nominative on the "Learn to Use Greek" DVD videos. The segments where he's displaying what he's doing in Logos 4 are way, way, way quieter than the parts where he's a "talking head." I didn't notice it as much on the other couple chapters/lessons I briefly looked at,

[quote user="Michael Childs"] It seems to me that the use of good lexicons could often be beneficial. I so often am frustrated by the misinformation that those with no Greek background pick up from some radio preacher or other "teacher" (who doesn't read Greek either.) "The Greek word really means _____" when it means nothing of the kind. I could name

  • Biblical Greek Illustrated By Examples (Zerwick) - Why not available separately?

Even though I have both Zerwick's Grammatical Analysis and his Biblical Greek, Illustrated By Examples in print form, I bought Grammatical Analysis at the Christmas 50% price. Sadly, though, I can't buy Biblical Greek, Illustrated By Examples separately, This is too bad, especially since Grammatical Analysis is frequently keyed to it. I don't want the

[quote user="Jonathan Burke"]There's a great big world outside the mainstream evangelical US. In fact there's a great big world outside the US (which includes the vast majority of people on the planet). I would be hesitant to characterize the broader Christian community like this. There are plenty of denominations in which women have contributed significantly

Too much! Started with Scholar's Silver ( $800? ), then upgraded at discount to Logos 3 Gold (OC) ( $400? ), then upgraded at discount to Logos 4 Platinum ( $464 ), plus (per my account and order history): $2,155 in orders, $95 pending in Community Pricing, and $1,435* pending in Pre-Pubs; plus one Camp Logos, several Morris Proctor manuals, plus some

  • Search results discrepancy in SBLGNT?

When I did a right-click "Search this resource" for ὥστε (hWSTE) as it occurs in John 3:16 in NA-27 and UBS4 using either "Selection ὥστε" or "Lemma ὥστε" for this uninflected word, it returned 83 results in 83 verses. But when I did a "Search this resource" for ὥστε (hWSTE) in SBLGNT, "Selection ὥστε" (ὥστε in search box) returned 81 results in 81

I just did the same search after "rebuild bible index" finished, and now I get 83 and 83 for both search methods. So it appears to be fixed. Thanks!

  • Selecting text for Print/Export

I'd like to select both Isaiah 8:14 and Isaiah 28:16 in the Hebrew to Print/Export as a single document, but when I try to select these texts using Ctrl and the mouse, it won't select and keep both of them as usually works with Windows programs; it unhighlights/unselects the first one I've highlighted and only does the second one. Using the Shift and

  • morph search problem for petalon πέταλον in LXX

When I try to do a lemma:petalon morphological search in the Logos LXX, the drop-down box never presents πέταλον as an option as I'm typing lemma:petalon. However, when I go into the text - e.g., Exodus 28:36 - and right-click on the word, it creates the lemma morph search. The same occurs with Philo (Greek text). The lemma:petalon search doesn't bring

I have the same error. And I, too, compared it with my print edition. Also with A Concise Hebrew and Aramaic Lexicon of the Old Testament. It appears to be an error - i.e., the ayin was dropped somehow.

Thanks! That should work as long as the ESV is complete in its OT cross-references. I suspect it omits quotes from the Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha, though.
