I am not one to complain about Logos' promotional methods, but this seems to be a bit over the top. When I used the Logos home page to access the offer, it ended up showing an upgrade to L5 Silver in addition to the book. If they wish to say "Free book with the purchase of an L5 upgrade", that is their right and I would
Great points Sean, and I am thankful for your work even though I am still feeling my disappointment. A month ago, I purchased Logos 4 as a brand new user.
I understand how you feel. Add about 12 years to that feeling and you will know how I feel also. Logos Bible Software is by far the best in the business in my opinion

Bump I don't want anyone else to faint....
-
Make sure you are going to the upgrades page. http://www.logos.com/upgrade Something changed on the home page that takes everyone to the first time purchaser page instead of the upgrade page. (The Upgrades link is still found in the Products drop-down menu.)
...after rising from the floor due to fainting I tried

Yesterday I checked out my "personalized offer" (while logged in) several times... I know for sure that in order for me to cross over to Gold in L5 (I have Gold in L4 plus extra) it was going to cost me right around $500... I just went back to check what options there were for "customize" (logged in) and now the L5 Gold says I'll have to pay over $1300
-
Added note... when selecting "new to you" feature on upgrade page I notice it is not correct. It is saying many of the resources are new to me when in fact I already "own" them. I would warn anyone looking at that to keep this in mind.
-
Edit: He said INFO posting soon.... While the crossgrade option immediately came out when L4 was introduced, from the "feel" of things I would be very surprised to see us getting that option before Christmas... Hope so, but doubt it.

I know there are issues with the individualized update page. In need of some clarification. I had Leaders in Libronix... Upgraded to Leaders in L4.... Then to Gold L4... I notice that Gold L5 DOES NOT have many of the resources in the leaders library from L4 (for example under Ministry) Did Gold L4 not have those? I thought it did. If this is the case

I would just like honesty... Many get it... We pay for the program... Logos please stop claiming otherwise...
This is not new to Logos. In Libronix (L3), there was further functionality that needed to be purchased to be used. In Libronix these were called add-ins,
You are correct
-
J. Morris, I've read over your thought provoking posts. I don't know about the difference between "program" and "engine." essentially the same. I think what makes L5 murky is that the new datasets seem kind of like a program, but they are also resources. We can still use L5 without them. But if we want them, we buy a package

Some observations.... critique welcome
The disconnect is that L5 collections are completely new products, so maybe 'upgrade' isn't the best word. an analogy: the iphone 5 was an update of the Iphone 4s but that doesn't mean that Apple has to give iphone 5's to everyone who had an iphone 4s

Seems like vanity to me, for those that don't want many new resources, but want the new features, but are almost crying over losing a "status" from Platinum, to Gold, or oh my, even lower, Silver. Do you really *feel* more superior or of a higher class just because your package
-
Some observations.... critique welcome Context:I've been using Logos since what ever version it was right before Libronix A. "You pay for the resources not the program" This has been stated by users, and I do not recall the exact promise from years ago, has this exact statement been stated officially by Logos? I know the current statement is "you don

It is a little annoying when a book doesn't have its own TOC. That certainly is not Logo's fault. In fact Logos does a GREAT job of of "creating" a TOC (via the little double arrow click) even when the book did not originally come with one. My problem is that I can copy a book's TOC when it has one, but I can not copy a L4 generated TOC. I like to have

I would like the ability to insert a blank clipping. I know I could do this on the note side but I want to keep my information together (I don't use notes much for this reason... among others). Thank you logos for a GREAT program!... (anyone interested in buying a bunch of books? )

I have the CD and have requested this in Logos before. I am thrilled that it is being offered. GREAT JOB LOGOS! While I like my CD (PDFs) in L4 this resource is going to be 1,000 times more useful.

If I remember correctly, in the past searching headwords (like in a dictionary or book of quotes/illustrations) was not possible. I was wondering if this was still the case. Also, is it still not possible to search article titles such as in the theological journals? If it is not possible to search head-words specifically, then what advantage is it to
We are looking into several options for increasing Offline support. Proclaim was never designed with that use in mind, so implementing an offline save feature isn't trivial in complexity.
I know this whole 'cloud thing' has been debated around here pretty regularly. However, what I see are customers consistently

Well... you still qualify on the helpful side.
