  • How to "Download All" in Logos 8?

I recently purchased a new laptop. I was installing Logos 8 and it asked me whether to install my most commonly used resources or all the books on my account. Since I was in a hurry at the time, I chose the recommended option of installing just the most used books. Its been a week now and now I want to install all the rest of my books. Since I've been

  • Re: Help Requested: Collections on Biblical Theology

I appreciate the detailed explanation, but I'm not sure what this means. Are you offering up four different rules to accomplish the same purpose or are these four rules for four different types of collections? I'm a bit confused.

  • Help Requested: Collections on Biblical Theology

I wanted to do some supportive reading on biblical theology. I have received several books on biblical theology, (some I purchased individually and some as part of a set). I'd like to create a rule that pulls them together. However, whenever I try to gather than by title, I know some are missing. When I try to include them as a series, I get unrelated

  • Re: Creating a New Series of Commentaries

But can't you create a "collection" (give it your own name) and add a single volume from a commentary series (from multiple commentary sets) to 'create your own' personal set? I thought I read that just a few days ago here on the forums. I haven't tried it myself yet.

  • Preferred Commentary: Advice?

I was wondering if the 'community' had any recommendations on which 'preferred commentary' should be listed first in one's library. Granted that's going to come down to personal preference. But I'm hoping to glean some tips and recommendations to help me make that decision. Theologically, I'm in the Protestant, Evangelical, Reformed section of Christianity

  • Question: Collections and Preaching Resources

I'm still working on setting up some collections and I was wondering if anyone had some tips on setting up rules for specific types of collections: 1. Preaching/Homiletic resources that deal with just crafting sermons (how-to books). 2. Preaching/Homiletic resources that are just sermon outlines (but not "Bible outlines"). 3. Preaching/Homiletic resources

  • Re: Question: Collections and Commentary Sets

Okay. Thanks for the tip. I tried your type:bible-commentary subject:1-Kings formula and it does seem to work better at finding my resources. Thank you everyone for your tips and advice. I appreciate the assistance.

  • Re: Question: Collections and Commentary Sets

This is the pattern I've been using to set up my commentary selections by books of the Bible: OT Commentaries on the Book of First Kings type:commentary AND (title:kings OR subject:kings) ANDNOT ((subject:”2nd” OR title:”2 Kings”) ANDNOT (subject:”1st” OR title:”1 Kings”)) Am I not doing it right?

  • Re: Question: Collections and Commentary Sets

I see where you are going with this... by using 'series' and then that name, the collection finds them all. THANKS! That was really helpful!

  • Re: Question: Collections and Commentary Sets

Looking at one series, yes, it does have a series name.

  • Question: Collections and Commentary Sets

I was wondering if anyone had advice on how to set up a collection of a commentary set that isn't necessarily labelled as a set. For example, I have a few commentary sets and some begin with a title like 'XYZ Commentary: I Kings' and those are easy to group by using 'title'. But then I have a few others that are just 'I Kings' and later in the description

I know I would be interested in creating my own courses in the Courses tool, should this feature be considered in the future. I hope adding this ability to the tool would be considered in future Logos releases.

  • Fuzzy Monograph Search?

I know Logos 7 can do Fuzzy Bible Searches. Does anyone know how to do a Fuzzy Monograph Search? For example, when I do a search in Google, I can type a full question like: "Why does God allow evil to take place?" Instantly, I get several possibly related websites. But I want to do this kind of search in Logos among the books that I own. I'd like to

  • App Improvement Suggestion

When I use the Faithlife App, its usually while following along a sermon or in Bible study. I have my Bible open with my favorite study notes under it. But sometimes the sermon or Bible study goes in a different direction than what my notes cover. It would be nice to be able to keep my Bible text where it is, but be able to switch the Bible study notes

  • Re: Is Camp Logos worth the money?

Yes. I've been to a Camp Logos by Morris Proctor. He's a very good presenter, very organized, and patiently explains in detail how to get the most out of Logos Bible Software. I was skeptical when I attended, but I was thoroughly impressed by the end of the camp. I had no idea just how power Logos was and it was Morris Proctor that really took the time
