  • Re: is faithlife connect discontinued?

Thank you, Jake Press, and others for sharing the link I requested. It turns out that the fault was mine for not clicking on the heading there for "eBooks." Just like my sons always tell me, I need to be more adventurous and go ahead and just click on things!

  • Re: is faithlife connect discontinued?

Something is surely missing for I have not been able to access the page where the August Free Books are linked from. I have saved the link to the Logos Now page and have accessed both the classic book and the other category from the same page with the free coupon code for each in the past. That is not there any more that I can see. The benefit was nice

  • Re: SUGGESTION: Win-win for a new note feature - legend and abbreviations

I like the idea if it would be helpful to users. But I do not quite understand the usefulness of this suggested feature for the New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge, since the explanation for any symbol used is given in a pop-up window upon mouse-over. This is my very first visit ever to this part of the Forums, so forgive me if my comment represents

  • Re: Thompson Chain

It is surely true that "less is more" in many circumstances. I was acutely aware of this issue when working on the New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge. That is one reason I employed symbols with the references. The most important references have a special symbol that marks them so that when, for example, I am teaching a Sunday school class where there

  • Re: Thompson Chain

The New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge will often lead to similar sets of references. It is more complete than the Thompson Chain Reference Bible. It has a topic number index (which Thomas Nelson Publishers left out of the digital edition available in Logos (without consulting me, the author, before they made the decision). If you use the TCRB in conjunction

  • Re: Help Me Compare New vs Original Treasury of Scripture Knowledge

Indeed, I am the guilty culprit who assembled by hand the notes and cross references in the New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge! It is still very likely that it is the most complete collection of cross references in Logos Bible Software. About 2007 I completed for Thomas Nelson Publishers a consolidated edition of my New Treasury that actually contains

  • Re: Resources for conversations with JWs

Don't miss what I have placed in The New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge on all of these issues. My book is available as a Logos resource. I placed these topics or notes in my book as a result of four years of study JWs conducted in my home. That took place because members of my Sunday school class begged me to assist them when JWs visited their homes

  • Re: Please help get this important collection into production

DAL, with much fear and trepidation, I am giving in to the wisdom of your recommendation. In short, I'm "in."

  • Re: Passion Week?

I would be happy to assist you with any questions you have that my print resource might answer. Just post a question at my site at www.realbiblestudy.com where my latest post is about Luke 24:21. You can post anywhere, though many initially post under the "about the author" page. My book ( Three Days in the Grave by Roy M. Allen) does convincingly answer

  • Re: Passion Week?

I recently discovered I have a print volume in my personal library published in 1942 in an edition of 2000 copies. The publisher was Loizeaux Brothers. Title: Three Days in the Grave Pages: 159 Author: Roy M. Allen Includes a fold-out chart of the chronology. I have been reading and rereading this book for the past month. I believe it may be the most

Thank you for your encouraging response, Yasmin Stephen. I tried again and this time it worked for me.

  • Re: Free Book for April (Links swapped)

The free book of the month code for classic works for NOW members does not work. I tried it twice or more for a work by Zwemer priced at $17.99 and copying the coupon code into the box provided did not work. I look forward to this being fixed.

  • Re: Opinions on Carson's Sermon Archive

I just bought and downloaded the D. A. Carson Sermon Library. I do not generally read sermons. But Dr. Carson is very good. I've read many of his books. Long before Logos was ever heard of I had a paperback about exegetical fallacies by him that I found very helpful. Looking at a sermon that is about a passage that I have a great interest in (2 Samuel

  • Re: Reduced price on Anabaptist-Mennonite Studies collection

I, too, have been in on this resource for some time. I was delighted to see the price reduction. It is a most valuable collection, especially with the massive work Martyrs Mirror . Do bid on this resource at this lowered price!

Taking a look at the link again just now, I see it says "Under development." Does this mean this resource has "made it"? I certainly hope so.

Thank you for calling attention to this excellent resource. And thank you Cynthia for your helpful comments about it too. I have placed my order, and hope it will go through soon.

  • Re: This sleeper needs a boost--a major collection of works about baptism in CP

I am delighted to notice that this still very important collection on the subject of baptism is now to be seen on page one under "progress" in Community Pricing. These works are exceedingly good on this subject. I have taken the time to download a PDF of each from "google books." Only trouble, "google books" did not have them all. This would indicate

  • Re: Figures of Spech Dataset

There is a resource available in Logos titled The New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge. If you have that resource, turning to Revelation 20:6 you will find I give Bullinger's designation for the Figure, with a reference to Deuteronomy 28:3, where I name the figure, and refer to Bullinger's work, page 919. I also provide a listing at Dt 28:3 of where

  • Re: the lamsa bible and supporting writings..

Despite the reservations of some regarding the Lamsa Translation, I have found it most useful. Years ago when I was teaching Sunday school in the 1960s I found the Lamsa Translation to be one of the few available modern English whole Bibles available. For high school students that were uncomfortable with the English of the King James Version, the Lamsa

  • Re: Numerical Bible: 7 or 14 resources?

I have found this resource very helpful. I have it in the print edition, and am thankful I now have it in Logos. The print edition has the Bible text at the top of the page. It has commentary below that text. And it has a side column of cross references. I have been very interested in the cross references because this resource does not duplicate what
