  • Re: Can you recommend a good treatment of Adam and Eve?

I've found The Evolution Of Adam by Peter Enns very helpful indeed. Unfortunately it's not in Logos at the moment, but a Kindle edition is available.

  • A key book now on the way

Brilliant! At last The Fire That Consumes is in pre-pub and has made huge progress in the last couple of days. I'd love to see the red line turn green quickly, showing that this key book is Under Development. http://www.logos.com/product/20263/the-fire-that-consumes-a-biblical-and-historical-study-of-the-doctrine-of-final-punishment-third-edition

  • RefTagger no longer bringing verses up

I've just noticed that RefTagger is no longer bringing up the Bible references on my website. It has done so successfully for a long time and I'm wondering what has gone wrong? When you hover over a reference now, there is a pause, then a message says, 'This reference could not be loaded at this time' - or any time, it seems! Is it possibly because

  • Re: My Take on Notes and Highlighting with 4.5 with Video Demo

Thanks, Kevin. Your video didn't open my eyes to anything I hadn't figured out about the new highlighting/notes connection, but it's always good to see a feature in action onscreen, and I appreciate the time and trouble you have taken to put it together. I decided to give the 'Wild' style a miss - hope you don't mind.

How is it that there's no volume on 1 Corinthians in this series? Is there one in the pipeline?

  • Re: he said, he said...he said

Bible is capitalized because, as the title of a book, it is a proper noun, as distinct from a common noun. As for capitalizing pronouns referring to God, I honestly think it's an old-fashioned practice that helps make Christians seem out of touch with ordinary people. It has nothing at all to do with respect. It's like the old practice of using 'thee

  • The Fire That Consumes

I've just heard from Wipf & Stock that they have signed for Logos to carry Edward Fudge's book The Fire That Consumes (3rd edition). That's good!

  • Re: GraecaII to unicode Greek in Word docs

Ah yes. Sorry - clearly a 'senior moment' or two! That was the tool I previously used. Sadly I no longer have Libronix installed, and there doesn't seem to be an equivalent tool in Logos 4.

  • Re: GraecaII to unicode Greek in Word docs

Thanks, everyone. I haven't yet had chance to try your suggestions - but none of you have latched onto the tool I was looking for. I suspect it was something in Libronix, which of course is fast fading into the past.

  • GraecaII to unicode Greek in Word docs

I have some old sermon notes - MS Word docs - with bits of Greek in them, entered in the GraecaII font that used to come with Logos. Recently, of course, unicode fonts have taken over to take care of Greek bits, and I no longer have GraecaII on my machine, so that the 'Greek bits' now appear in Roman letters. There used to be a feature, either of Logos

  • Re: Logos Bible Software Gift Card Idea

I've been agitating for this service for years. My kids often buy me Logos credit for birthday and Christmas, but it's a pretty complicated business for them, especially from here in the UK. I'm sure a simple system would boost Logos's sales considerably, especially at a season like this, so goodness knows why they don't give priority to getting it

I bought two new books a couple of days ago and my system didn't automatically download them. I tried 'Update resources' in the command bar, plus several restarts, all to no avail. A 7.4MB download took place, but nothing in the Library to show for it. Clicking the 'Last updated' column header showed the last updates as two weeks earlier. I emailed

  • Re: Merging collections

Thanks, Steve, for the prompt response. This works, but there are a couple of downsides. One is, as you say, the need to keep the original collections, which I could do without. Another is that the imported collection appears as a single entry in the collection it has been imported into, rather than listing its contents separately. I'm holding fire

  • Merging collections

I have three collections that I'd like to combine into a single one. They are all Bible Background, Language and Studies collections, one for OT works, one for NT and one General (both testaments). Is there a simple way to go about combining them?

  • Luther quote - source needed, please

I'm looking for the exact source of the following quotation from Martin Luther. I think it comes from a tract against Zwingli's understanding of the Lord's Supper. “Woe betide all our teachers and authors, who go their merry way and spew forth whatever is uppermost in their minds, and do not first turn the thought over ten times to be sure it is right

  • Press a word and get the one before it!

I'm using the latest version of the Logos Android app on a Samsung Galaxy Fit phone. Mostly, it's great. But I notice that if, in the Nestle Aland 26 Greek interlinear NT I touch and hold a word, when the black section opens at the bottom, the word I touched is in the middle OK, but on the next line, after 'Text' I have the word before it. I've tried

  • New NIV - why the hassle?

I've long used the NIV as my standard Bible and have moved over to the latest edition, which I have in Logos. But to my frustration it's not available for me to access on my Android phone. Why not? I suspected it might be a licensing problem with Zondervan, especially as I'm in the UK. But I was able to buy it from Laridian for $9.99 for my phone. If
