Hi, I want to know how I can search the Hebrew Bible to see where two different terms occur in the same verse, or within a larger specified context. Thanks.

  • Re: ePub books to LOGOS

Princeton Seminary has a digital library of books in the public domain. Some of them can be exported to a Kindle. (They have been scanned using OCR, so they have a significant number of errors, some more than others.) From my Kindle I add them to Calibre, then use Calibre to convert them to RTF. Then I open the RTF in MS Word and convert to docx format

  • Re: Logos 4 Crashes upon start

I also have been having Logos 4 crash on start up recently. This is on a netbook, so maybe more RAM is needed, but it used to work. Here are some log files: 7534.Logos4.zip 8880.Logos4Crash.zip 6523.Logos4Error.zip Thanks for any assistance you can give.

  • Re: Received emails today on Church Pulpit Commentary & Colossians and Philemon

I hope people realize that this set contains some really outstanding old commentaries. John Davenant, Jean Daille and Daniel Wilson each wrote commentaries that truly are classics. $20 or even $25 for all three is a great deal. Nicholas Byfield is an interesting Puritan commentator. And then there's Handley Moule's commentary as well. Lots of good material

Vyrso Christian e-books purchased at the Vyrso site (related to Logos) will be downloaded to Logos and can be read on Logos just like any of your other resources.

  • Re: German Bible Society states: "No Further SESB-Versions"

[quote user="Jerry M"] What does the NA27 with Critical Apparatus look like? Is the apparatus a separate resource or like footnotes at the bottom, like the paper NA27? A screenshot might be helpful. If they are separate I wondered how you used them with the NA27. The resource page says this... Also included is the Nestle-Aland Novum Testamentum Graece

  • Re: Logos 4 on Netbook

I run Logos 4 on an Acer Aspire One with just 1 GB Ram. It works, as long as I don't try to run other programs simultaneously.

  • Re: John Eadie on CP

I have several of Eadie's commentaries in dead-tree form. They are excellent. Eadie was head and shoulders above many commentators of his day. I am looking forward to getting this set in digital form.

  • Re: Smart Tag

I had Windows XP, Logos 4 and MS Word 2007, and smart tags worked very well. Now I have Windows 8 and MS Word 2013. I downloaded the Logos 5 free engine. The MS Word installation 2013 is 32-bit and as far as I know, I am not running either Logos 5 or MS Word 2013 as administrator. The screenshots in http://www.logos.com/articleviewer/530 mention Logos

  • Re: Eadie Commentaries Closing Soon

Encyclopedia Britannica (11th edition) article on Eadie: EADIE, JOHN (1810-1876), Scottish theologian and biblical critic, was born at Alva, in Stirlingshire, on the 9th of May 1810. Having taken the arts curriculum at Glasgow University, he studied for the ministry at the Divinity Hall of the Secession Church, a dissenting body which, on its union

  • Re: Old FF Bruce Commentary on Ephesians & Colossians?

From D. A. Carson's N.T. Commentary Survey : E.K. Simpson (on Ephesians) "provides some helpful comments on individual words, but on the whole the work is an erudite disappointment. His vocabulary is impressive, but not much else." Bruce on Colossians is good, but other commentaries are certainly better.

  • Bible Sense? "Kosmos"

Hovering over the word "world" (kosmos) in John 15:18 yields a very strange "Bible Sense" result in the Information Window: When I open the Bible Sense Lexicon and type "world" I am given the option of "world system" which gives John 15:18 as a reference. "World system" is a reasonable meaning for "kosmos" in John 15:18. "People of the Psalms" is not

  • Re: Passage Guide Screen Shot is very small

I'm wondering if you mean that you can't see much of the Passage Guide with your layout. In that case, you may want to open the Passage Guide in a separate window. If the Passage Guide tab is active (with a blue bar on the top), you can press Control + the F11 key to open it in a separate window.

  • Re: Christ's relationship to the Church - Recommended Searches

This may not be the best, but a clause search using subject:Jesus object:a church gives you a fair number of passages to look at.

  • Re: How long have you been a Logos user?

In the 1990's I used Quickverse with WordPerfect 5.1 for DOS. Some time ago I got the Libronix engine with a free biography of M'Cheyne, but hardly used it. I've really been a Logos user since 2012, when I got Perseus Greek and Latin, LSJ, and the Stuttgart Electronic Study Bible (now German Bible Society Bundle). Since then I've done minimal crossgrades
