Found files in a backup. How do you want me to send them to you? Mike

I did what Graham asked but I needed the collections working. I reinstalled from a backup I made just the week before. Went back to Logos Bible Software 5.2 SR-6 (5.2.0.0136) I can not find a copy of the e-mail I sent! Where does all that stuff go I wonder. When I did the reinstall I moved Logos to a different hard drive and erased the old directory

After the recent update 3/20/14 - 5.2a (5.2.1.0063) 4:00am, Logos 5 crashes upon clicking on the collection button. Tried everything I've done in the past when issues have arisen, I am indexing now to see if that makes any difference. Everything else seems to be working. Something to check after the update. I will call support when they decide to wake

Thanks, I did the backtrack from the post and found it. Mike

Thank you very much. I could not find that on a search. Do you have a trick for finding this kind of stuff on a search or is it just live and learn. Mike

I know about Logos 5 Commands, but is there a list of keyboard shorts cuts available? Mike

I am confused maybe in terminology here, but walk me thru the second process of getting the personal book on the second computer. Maybe the first also. Thanks

Yes! I was looking for something like this. Thanks But to the others reading this.... I had the "V8 moment" when listening to a sermon 35-40 years ago. Maybe I am asking what was your moment when the spirit enlightened you. This is not the forum to be asking this question. I guess I was looking for a book or technique that would help in that respect

I will put this in my wish list for now. thanks

Yes, words like these..... but my reference to love was that Jesus used different words when talking to Peter after the resurrection. My Bible just used the word love. Is there a list of words that have different defn with only one English word associated with it.
-
I would think there is a list of "most important words" to study or concepts to understand. Nouns, verbs, etc. Looking for some guidance. Example, 3 different words used for “love.” Those concepts that you hit yourself in the head like the commercial “I wish I would have had a V8.” Thanks for any ideas. Mike

I found a program that allowed me to look into the dbase. I actually have 171 books that have been made. It looks like after I had made changes in 1 book it changed the location for all of the books. The language I do not understand. I will not be trying to change that many locations just to have Logos crash and burn. I will do it the old fashoned way
-
I do not know what you a talking about... but sounds interesting. How would I do this? Mike

Today is Sunday.... Worship first! I still have my personal books. That is not the problem. The drive that I had my Word files is gone. I have a backup of the files and I copied them to the hard drive now on the computer. However, when I wanted to change something in one of the books, the program is looking for the drive that does not exist anymore

If you really want to see what’s happening on your hard drive search for Ultimate Defrag and download their free trial. You will see just how the index files in Logos get put on your hard drive. Whenever I do an update I look to see how it spreads the file on the hard drive. That is why I have a separate partition for Logos. Makes for easier optimization

I am thinking that one of these folders did not exist in the new install (the ones that need to be removed). Don't worry if one is missing. Be sure to copy all three folders from the backup to the new install.

You will need to copy the directory (sub directories included in this copy) Below are notes I kept when making backups or reinstalling on a new computer. Maybe this will help. I found some of the directions in the forum not specific enough. Method 2 with my additional notes This method saves resource downloading and indexing but gets installation files
