Perhaps you thought I was one of the ones who was implying "suck it up" but I was not. I was heaping abuse on Logos for being so slow (in other areas as well). Essentially commiserating with the OP. I just brought a brand new laptop, asked for one with sizzling fast specs (

I've read works by Olson but not this particular one; however, I do recall him saying that he did not particularly like what was conveyed by the title "Against Calvinism"--the publisher chose it.

  • Re: New Base Packages: Verbum 8 Ordinariate

I'm a protestant theologian, and these packages... are not bad at all! I have an old Verbum starter (L6, I think). I can get this Starter for $7.35, with 15 new works--7 of which are Chesteron. Bronze is only $36, and with that I'd get Evelyn Underhill and John Newman. Plus some N.T. Wright works I don't have yet. This could be useful for a wide variety
This was produced at a time when page numbers weren't added to resources. We've been in the process of adding them to those that are missing them. The works of Van Til are a very common request. We've been in the process of re-acquiring materials so we can get them added.
(Emphasis added.) Must be a long a process

  • Re: JEDP in Logos

I made a simple Visual Filter for AFAT that just colors the basic sources Eissfeldt identifies: This is mostly what I want. I do have a question (although I'm pretty sure the answer is "no"): Is there any way to map this filter onto another Bible, say an English one (any version) or a different Hebrew text (say, one with an interlinear)?

Ah bless you MJ; you're such a help! I'd never seen the Visual Filters document type before, so I've definitely learned something new today! This will take a while to process, but it should be very helpful.

    Thanks, Denise.
It's pretty easy, when you create a visual filter. - AFAT (the search resource) - Bible search - Search field: Surface - I narrow to the Torah - Search term: <EissfeldtHexateuch = ??> Where ?? is Y, E, P, D, or B
I can get this far (though I think the source is J, not Y; also what is B?
Is there an easy way to color the texts in Logos so that one could know which passages by color fit the JEDP docunmentary hypothesis?
This is something I've been studying recently, and I'd love to see something like this. Perhaps it could be done with a visual filter? Unfortunately I don't know anything about those. In my

I've reported this post as inappropriate. Hopefully it will be removed. I wish this forum had more active moderation to filter this sort of stuff out. Beyond that I can't think of anything within the forum guidelines to say, though it would be very easy to give the OP back in kind--glass houses and all that.

This is terrific news! I got some Galaxie journals long ago but have been unable to keep up. A subscription should suit my needs quite well--I don't need journals all the time but sometimes "binge" on them for projects. Question: Can the monthly subscription be taken only as needed? As in, could I subscribe for 3 months this year, let it lapse when

I understand and empathize with these complaints. Earlier this century, I was stuck between computer upgrades for about 10 years. I had Libronix on my system during those years as the latest versions of Logos passed me by. I even wrote two theses with that, and oh, a faster system and Logos 4+ would have made those much easier. Everyone's situation

I'm sure for most people putting this on a credit card and paying interest would be more economical than a Logos payment plan. Those are usually better only for much larger purchases.
I can't see the payment plan options since I have it and it is grayed out. What is the longest number of months and monthly rate they let you
Is there a good acid test that you could look for to quickly know how a set leans? • No Page Numbers in Lexham Works?

I'm just getting ready to read The Lion of Princeton in Logos, and I notice that there are no page numbers provided. That's fairly standard for ebooks, but when I go to the product page, I see that it is also available in paperback, and it's listed as having 336 pages. So, obviously pagination has been done at some point. Any chance of getting page

Of course, there's also the flip side of contemporary literacy. I've done all my work on computers for a very long time, and while I can type like the wind, I can barely write by hand anymore. If I had to hand write an exam for longer than, say, 20 minutes, I would probably physically be unable to do it, and you certainly would be unable to read it
