• L5 Upgrade custom pricing quirk?

I had L4 Platinum (with a bunch of additional individual book purchases), and I have been pondering what to do to upgrade to L5 since it was released. I finally decided for financial reasons to do the minimal crossgrade now, and to upgrade from there to L5 Platinum at a more financially advantageous time. So I purchased the minimum crossgrade, and am

Sorry, but I just now saw that this had been previously reported in Bug: Morph Search Results Not Showing . I did not intend to multiply threads needlessly. – DLA

  • Another Morph Search Display Problem

This round of betas seems to have introduced a number of problems with the display of search results. I mostly use morph searching, so that is where I have seen them the most, though I have not checked to see if there are similar problems with other kinds of search result displays. Here is another one (i.e. different from the one reported in the thread

Sorry, but the images did not 'stick' in the post when I pasted them in. As they were just on my clipboard, I no longer have them. I will re-post pictures the next time it happens. – DLA

  • The Pop-Down That Will Not Die

Here is a problem that I continue to encounter on a regular basis. I do a search and then attempt to change the display by adding a translation in parallel with the Hebrew (in this case I wanted the ESV alongside BHS, but it has happened with other resource combinations). After I select the second text (in this case ESV), the pop-down that allows the

  • Re: BUG: Focus issues driving me crazy

I have had similar problems with loss of focus many times with both stable and beta versions, and accessing many different resources. It is a persistent problem that has been reported a number of times but remains unresolved. Hopefully 'Real Soon Now ...." – DLA

Hmmm ... so pausing does not really pause by design. That's an interesting use of language. Is there any way to actually pause, or is the only option to permanently terminate the process by canceling it (assuming canceling actually cancels), or by killing the process?

  • Quo Vadimus 4.4?

Now that we have reached the RC stage for 4.3, perhaps Logos would entertain suggestions about some priorities for the next stage in the development process. I realize that this is not a democracy, and I am equally sure that the good developers at Logos already have a roadmap in place for Logos 4.4. Nevertheless it might be helpful for them to hear

  • Re: BUG: Crash upon opening custom layout on 4.3 Beta 13 (4.30.0.1437)

This seems to be one of those odd-ball things. I have had it happen as well: it happened the first time I attempted to open a saved layout in Beta 12 and in Beta 13. I had it happen once or twice more in Beta 12, but not yet in Beta 13 (except for that first time). I have not reported it since I have never been able to determine any pattern to the behavior

  • Re: 4.3 Beta 11 (v4.30.0.1146) available

I have been using β11 for several hours of research and writing now, employing a number of different layouts, most of which have many panes and open resources, and I have not had this problem. Also I have modified and saved layouts with no troubles. So whatever the problem is, it does not appear to be a general issue. Perhaps it can be isolated to a

  • Re: I was told

Agreed. I am not privy to Logos's plans, but I note that we seemed to have gotten all the major feature additions that are going to appear in 4.3. Logos seems to have picked up the pace of beta releases, which leads me to think that we are getting relatively close to the release of a stable version. Beta 10 seems pretty stable to me, and a lot of progress

  • Re: Hebrew Keyboard

Stephen: One thing to understand is that Logos uses Unicode internally, and that one of the key features of Unicode is that (unlike ASCII) it separates the character designation from both keyboard and the font itself. The net effect of this is that you can have multiple keyboards (and several fonts) installed, even for a single language and the resulting

  • Re: Beta 9 Performance Issues (?)

OK. So having established that this is a local problem, I tried a few routine things (rebooting, using different layouts, creating a new layout, running with fewer other apps, etc.), none of which seemed to help. So I decided to rebuild the indexes (bible and general). I did that overnight, and things are much better this morning. After a few hours

  • Beta 9 Performance Issues (?)

Has anyone else had issues with performance since installing Beta 9? I find that almost every operation that I perform in my main layout, even just scrolling text, causes a 'spinning beachball' for 20 seconds to a minute (or more in a few cases). This same layout worked just fine with Beta 8 (i.e. no performance issues or spinning beachballs), and nothing
Same text in NeoOffice with Cardo font
That is actually pretty good. Spacing of consonants is adequate (though a little 'gappy' with some glyph combinations), and the composition of diacriticals and vowels with single marks (consonants only) is generally good. There is a problem with the qamets combined with final

  • Re: Resizable results-list font - before Christmas?

Yeah. I too struggle with this (old eyes). I assume that this is not so much of a priority for the developers since they are all young enough to be able to see the very small type. The challenge of trying to read Hebrew vowel pointing at such a small size is almost enough to make me resort to using Greek or (horror) English. Weak attempts at humor aside

  • Re: PBB Question

Yes. File Type and Creator identification were stored in the resource fork of the file. This told the OS what icon to use and what program to open the file with. When Mac files get converted to Windows this information is lost, even if the 'file format' is the same. This often creates problems when Mac users share files with Windows users, in that the

Jack: I'm back, but still grading papers through most of the upcoming weekend.
Tried another block of text that was primarily English with some Hebrew embedded. Everything rendered correctly in Mellel. Word scrambled the letters, and lost the font. the paragraph then imported into PBB with the Hebrew letters rearranged.

  • Re: Personal Book Builder: Initial Observations and Issues

Interesting. When I did my files (originated in Nisus Writer Pro, but that should not matter) I opened them in Word but did not modify them there (only saved them as .docx). Did you happen to notice whether the reversed Hebrew from BDB was correct in Word (I am assuming that it was correct in Mellel, but this is worth confirming as well). I have noticed
