  • Re: Official: Minimum Crossgrade and free engine download are coming!

Here is a question I haven't been able to find an answer to by searching around. If for instance (as I have) one owns the L4 Scholars Library, when I purchased it I had no idea about databases, and those types of resources. Does the scholars library include all the databases and so forth for L4, and if not, would those databases be included in an L5

  • Re: Too Sad that Logos does not have built in Timeline.

If one were to download the pirated engine (i say pirated since we are not allowed to have it yet, though we will be allowed to have it in the future, at that point it would not be pirated) without the new databases one might have an interface that looks similar to the one lacking timeline. Or else, its possible that something just needs to download

  • Re: Effect of 5 on Logos mobile apps?

I have the 5 engine running on my laptop, and 4 on my desktop (incompatible with 5). In my configuration the mobile app has not updated. Maybe there is an update coming? But as far as I know, there is not one right now.

  • Re: Upgrades / New tools

Simply put no, in order to get all of the new functionality you have two chocies: Gold upgrade, or Wait till the Crossgrade is available, many have said this is usually under 100$, I was looking at the 3-4 crossgrade option a week ago, and it was 69$... I'll probably spend the money for the crossgrade, and then buy the journal library (1-10) in the

  • Re: Purchasing the Logos 5 starter package.

Yep, but here's the thing: starter won't have all of the databases that come with either Gold or the Crossgrade. If you just want the engine, Logos will be making it available after the first wave of sales dies down. Someone mentioned around christmas time, but they weren't a logos rep.

Bob had mentioned that with at the current prices they are operating at a .38% profit margin (note the decimal point). They spent a couple of years working on this (apparently about 300 families), AND they are willing to give it away for free (in a couple months, I heard around christmas, but only Logos knows). How can I complain about that?

  • Re: Logos 5 Upgrade: Sure Sounds Like They Could Have Handled This Better!

Its simple - the crossgrade is coming (per Bob). Just give it time :) there is a lot of confusion on the boards right now, but most of it hangs upon peoples own lack of reading. That was why i was freaked out at first... Soon as I started reading, I understood what was going on, the situation with the crossgrade, and so forth.

I had the scholars Library in L4, that is one of the libraries which were not continued. I think they want students to go with gold or silver now...

  • Re: Upgrade Questions

Thats a good point MJ - 5 will not run on my desktop because it is only a release candidate for 8, not the full version. Logos looks for a different version number on .net 4.5 than comes installed, and the installer for L5 tries to install a version of 4.5 that will not install on 8 release candidate.

  • Re: Upgrade Questions

The logos site seems to be down for the moment, but if it ran L4, it will probably run L5. Wait for the site to come back up and look at the system requirements before you order... But my slow laptop (i3 first gen, with 2gb of ram) runs it just fine.

  • Re: Upgrading

h From what I gather, what you have is always yours no matter what. Even when you upgrade the resources from your previous base package are still yours :). Also they do have a transfer of ownership option I think its 20$. But we aren't supposed to talk about selling logos on the logos forums. You can download the 5 engine already, but that doesn't include

Intel i3 (first gen) with 2gb of ram. Its about the same I think... Maybe slightly slower. I've been contemplating upgrading the ram for a while... perhaps its time :)

I know everyone can't get a discount, but is there anyway to assist your students who are knee deep in Bible college? ---- They do have a student discount program... I got a good deal on L4 JUST TWO WEEKS AGO. lol It brought the 600+$ package to a more manageable 440+$. It helped I think that my salesman was a graduate of my seminary :)

awesome! Glad to hear it Bob! I wrote out a post about loading .docx onto my tablet through iTunes (something that is done with other apps on the app store) - but my ISP was a little hungry I think...

  • Re: Personal Books - L5 upgrade

I thought about that, but its not the only solution... My devices are mostly iDevices... So I can only speak to the way those work, however many apps on the app store allow you to store things from your computer, to your tablet (in my case) or phone. So you compile a new book in PBB, you ought to be able to just drag and drop that file into the apropriate

  • Re: Upgrading

The above file worked on my laptop (windows 7), but I'm running an evaluation copy of Windows 8 on my desktop. The evaluation copy of windows 8, runs an evaluation copy of .net framework fx 4.5, logos doesn't see it as being what it needs, but the .net 4.5 that comes with the logos installer (at the previously mentioned link) is NOT a higher version

  • Re: Personal Books - L5 upgrade

thats a shame, I was hoping my PBB's would populate out to my tablet... All of my class notes at seminary go into PBB's, and that type of functionality would be eminently useful. THAT and being able to import audio/video/images into a PBB... My seminary has recently started recording videos of most of the classes we take. I have downloaded all of these
