• Re: PBB files and teaching new Logos users

Thanks for all the replies. They give me some hope it may work. As a few suggested, though, I will call Logos, maybe after the rush cools down a bit, if no one from Logos answers here. Thanks, Dudley

  • PBB files and teaching new Logos users

I will be teaching Logos 4 this January, and some of the students will be new Logos users, and therefore will have only Logos 4. I use PBB books I make for teaching purposes, and it would be helpful for all the students to be able to read them. I'm assuming that there isn't a way to download version 3 and resources from the ftp site and get it to recognize

  • ante-nicene fathers volume 4

It seems that v4 of the ante-nicene fathers is incomplete in Logos 4. It is complete in 3, but in 4 concludes at p 145. Is this true for others as well? I posted this in the beta>resources forum, but I'm not sure people are still checking there. Thanks, Dudley
Discontinued = no longer sold.
I wonder if there would be any possibility for people to buy version 3. I have students who have not yet purchased Logos and, at least for the time being, would be better served to have both versions. Dudley
Now that oxford has made a digitized online version of some of it's titles is it possible that we might see the New Oxford Annotated Bible and or the Oxford bible Commentary. I would love both although don't want to pay hundreds of dollars a year to have access to them. -dan http://www.oxfordbiblicalstudies.com [/quote

  • AF Syntax search:source

I am new to the syntax search, so I'm probably making a stupid mistake. I'm just trying to make some simple searches to find sources. I selected: Hebrew Bible: Andersen-Forbes Phrase Marker Analysis Range: Pentateuch Clause 1 Clause IC: 1 structure=subject Segment 1: Source=Yahwist (prose) I get 0 results. This seems to happen no matter what when I

  • Markup based on additional search criteria or databases

I know there has been a lot of discussion about making markups more robust in version 4. I would like to add my voice to that. In addition to being able to print marked up text and, in the case of Bibles, have it apply to more than one resource, I would love additional search-based or database-based visual filters, or even from verse lists. As an example

Thanks, Dave. I've no experience with the syntax search, so I'll have fun learning how to use it effectively. Dudley
[So here's something to get you started using Verse Lists from Syntax Search (Search menu) to identify specific genre
• Re: Backup and Restore of Libronix

Dave, Just a quick couple of questions. The install directions indicate the necessity of installing the program from disks because otherwise the addins won't be added or work correctly. Does that mean that PBB addin must be re-downloaded? On a reinstall I did manually I used the http://www.logos.com/media/update/LogosAddinsAutoUpdate.lbxupd script,

  • Re: Any way to mark Eissfeldt Sources in other than Andersen-Forbes

If I read that right, it is about the A-F specific markings. I'm looking for a way to do this for an English Bible. I'm pretty sure the automatic marking works only for the A-F tagged text, so I'm looking for a workaround. Thanks, Dudley [quote user="MJ. • Any way to mark Eissfeldt Sources in other than Andersen-Forbes

I would like to mark an English Bible with the Eissfeldt Sources for teaching purposes. Is there a way to do this other than marking them up by hand? I would even be happy with something like the markings for the Bible reading plan, if necessary, say, working from a verse list. Thanks, Dudley

  • Re: Works of Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Fortress publishes a lot of Bonhoeffer and is nearing the completion of the Dietrich Bonhoeffer Works in English. Fortress has indicated that they will produce an electronic version upon completion. Since they have used Logos for other electronically published titles, I sure hope they do for Bonhoeffer. This critical edition set would be a spectacular
I am assuming this is a simple association that can be defined just like it is for the ESV Greek/Hebrew and Tenakh/JNT - it might actuall be a bug?
can someone give me a quick review of the training DVDs, and whether it is worth for me to order a copy?
I have both and attended a Camp 1 a few years ago. I recommend them without reservation. I found the Camp 1 set to be an excellent and worthwhile refresher. Proctor is an excellent trainer, and as Jack said, the videos
