• Bonhoeffer for Armchair Theologians - Kindle?

This may have been answered before, but I couldn't find the thread it it was. Bonhoeffer for Armchair Theologians says its available for Mac, Windows and Mobile. I can access it on my mobile devices, but it does not show a link to send it to Kindle. I assume there is a distinction between allowing mobile and Kindle access. If that's right, is there

  • Re: Bug? Media Search
I found the bug: click "All Media", then uncheck all the checkboxes. (Just click the three top-level ones.) It will go back to saying "All Media", but it will now search the online sections.
Thanks, Bradley. That did it. And thanks to MJ, Dave and Bob for helping me chase the phantom.

  • Re: Bug? Media Search

Thanks, MJ. There is something funny with my installation. I get the same thing as you do on your two right hand tabs. But the Media Search on the left tab I get the Atlas category but no results, and I don't get the Logos Media category at all.Very curious. I'll have to look into this more and call support, I guess.Again, thanks for your help and patience

  • Re: Bug? Media Search

Wow. I must be making myself incredibly unclear. If I click the search icon and initiate a Media Search, whether I put the terms in quotes, qualify them as a Place, I get vastly different results than when I access Media Search from the results of the Everything Search. Would someone please try these steps? Try 1) a) click on the magnifying glass on
I believe that a media search is limited to resources with a library type of media. Here items are tagged so that you can search for photos vs. images vs. charts. The broader searches are not limited to to the media section. By looking at the resources included/not included in the results you can verify my memory.
Thanks

  • Bug? Media Search

I seem to be getting different results with the media search. If I begin a simplr media search on all resources, I get pretty slim pickings. If I initiate an everything search, I get a lot more results, of course, but also results I wuold have expected in the first search, e.g. Atlas and Media. But it gets even more interesting, as you can see in the

  • Kindle TOC and navigation?

The ability to 'send to Kindle' is incredible and very valuable. The one question I have is navigating something like a Bible. I use the Kindle outdoors, say in Israel, since it's light and easier to read than a tablet. I sent the NRSV to Kindle, and it is very well done. The only problem I'm having is that the TOC is broken into chapters and Pericope

  • Re: Babylonian Talmud, Soncino English Translation

Finally have a new set of DOCX files, which correct a number of issues in several files. Remaining: 1. Talmud milestones (a few are done), 2. I know there are some Biblical references the script didn't pick up. I'll fix them as I see them. I also welcome others to help, and 3. I have no doubt that there are many errant paragraph breaks and other formatting

  • Neusner's Tosefta

This has been mentioned before, but both posts began several years ago. Jacob Neusner's translation of the Tosefta would be a great addition to his Mishna and Talmuds. In doing work in the Neusner's Babylonian Talmud in Logos I noticed that references to the Tosefta are already tagged, which makes me think Logos (Faithlife) has planned to publish it

Just to let you know, I'm finding issues with a few tractates in which some of the headings weren't correctly rendered in the PDF conversion. I'll post a new set of files within a few days. Meanwhile the posted files are usable--just in a few areas the navigation will be missing. I've also begun putting in the folio milestones.

Here's a link to the folder that contains the zip folder. Should make it easier to get updates. Sorry I didn't think of it the first time. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/1fl95nebt1k5ua7/AACVF-HEZ3-JgtPcCLjONa0ga?dl=0 One unfinished thing I failed to mention is hyper-linking the footnotes for the introductions and prefaces. The footnotes in all the tractates

I have placed a link to a zip folder of DOCX files for a PB of the Soncino translation of the Babylonian Talmud in the Files section of the forum.

  • Babylonian Talmud, Soncino English Translation

I've compiled a set of DOCX files for a PB of the Soncino translation and notes to the Babylonian Talmud. (As of Sept. 1, 2014 the main remaining work would be to tag the tractates, chapters and dafs with Babylonian Talmud milestones and any referring datatype links; however, they are all fully marked with headings.) Any corrections are welcome. A macro

Thanks, Dave. I was hoping to avoid a bit of coding, but using the Logos syntax is more reliable, for sure.
No, this is working as expected, as N.B. Mick says.
Mark and Nick, thanks. Very helpful. My plan is to use the headings for navigation to start with. When I begin to add the datatypes, I think I'll try to make lemonade out of the lemons. Since I have other Talmuds that have the same datatypes, I'll just plan to use

  • Word hyperlinks erratically fail to make link in personal book

I've been working on a personal book in which I have made hyperlinks in Word. The links all work in word. However, some of them simply do not work in the personal book. In one case I have in one sentence four hyperlinks to glossary entries. All the link destinations show up in Word in the 'place in document' drop-down. All the hyperlinks function in
For links to particular folios you should use one of the Talmud datatypes.
If I put a Babylonian Talmud datatype milestone in the document [[@babtalmudfolio:Berachoth 2a]], it shows in the index beautifully. However, if I reference it with a datatype link [[babtalmudfolio:Berachoth 2a]] or [[Berachoth 2a >> babtalmudfolio
