• Re: Personal Book PBB size question
The biggest disadvantage of splitting a personal book into individual volumes is that you can't create links between personal books. But there's no practical limit to the size of a Personal Book that I could find. That is, you'll hit the limit in Word long before you hit it in Logos.
Mark, thank you. All very helpful

Thanks to you all. Very helpful. My inclination is to make a single book. There would be many DOCX files. It sounds as though it should be no problem at all. Again, thanks.

  • Personal Book PBB size question

I am in the process of building a personal book (The Soncino translation of the Talmud, which is claimed to be in the PD: http://tzvee.blogspot.com/2011/09/golan-v-holder-copyright-and-soncino.html ). In any case it is for my personal use, and I have purchased the Neusner Talmud (both of them) in Logos, so I'm not making the book to avoid a Logos offering
What kind of resource is it? At a quick glance, I see that all VERSIFIED resources will show the scripture verse OR the commentary that is associated with the versification. Your resource looks like a dictionary. Is that right? I bet dictionaries or other resources with headwords will do the same.
They are both monographs
You lost me somewhere. Screenshots would help.
Fair enough. I'm pretty sure I can't capture hover popups via a screenshot, so I'll still need to try to explain part of it. Above are two notes that were made by highlighting text in the Babylonian Talmud and clicking the highlighter pen. The notes are automatically created

  • Highlight note hover inconsistency

When I highlight a section of text in a resource and click on the highlighter pen I want, a note is created as expected. What is unexpected is that sometimes if I hover over hyperlink for the note, I will get a popup which shows the highlighted section. At other times when I hover over the hyperlink, the popup will show only the full title of the resource

  • Re: Scripture References From Babylonian Talmud?

Liam, I've read this thread, but I'm still not sure what I'm going to say is useful for your purposes. The Soncino translation of the Babylonian Talmud uses footnotes to indicate Biblical references related to the Talmud text. The Soncino is freely available at: http://halakhah.com/ I have been working on a Python routine to automatically convert the

Here's the best $10 I spent on such a thing. I've been using it to convert PowerPoint slides and notes to .docx and then to epub and Kindle with Calibre. http://greatcirclelearning.com/zapps-ppt-extract_convert-powerpoint-to-word

Thanks so much for this. I would love it if the PB section of the Wiki had more of these "template" type files and more detailed instructions about automating getting the milestones and content into Bible, Bible commentary, Bile notes DOCX files. The Wiki is great, as are the forums; don't get me wrong; although I find forum searches to be hit or miss

  • Bible spreadsheet template

Has anyone made an Excel spreadsheet available with the Bible milestones for the whole Bible? I've seen mention of using such a spreadsheet to simplify making Bible PBs, but I can't find such a file on the site. thanks.

  • Printing highlights

Is it possible to easily print all the highlighted sections of text in a document, either from the document or the note file? I'm sorry if this has been addressed, but I have not been able to find information in the help files or in the forums. Thanks

  • Re: What program do you use to write your sermons?

MS Word. Make PDF for posting along with MP3 recording. Also, save Word file as plain text to Dropbox, import text file into Teleprompt+ on the iPad for preaching.
Since Logos does not have a sermon writing tool I was wondering what do you all use to write your sermons?
I've been generally disappointed in the maps features in Logos. Some of the maps are very good (Some of the Biblical Facts ones, and Standard Bible Atlas, for example), but I've found that getting to them in the guides or a search is hit or miss. Try finding a map of the United Kingdom or the united Monarchy, for example. Maybe I'm doing something wrong

Great suggestions. I've been tagging like mad and have to say it's working pretty easily and will be an improvement over trying to work with inconsistent metadata to make dynamic collections.
I would like to see a 'Collections' field added to Library to enable us to see this. However some felt that would be a lot of computer effort because collections are dynamic now rather than static. They may be right, but this is a computer and it runs at gigacycles per second, so somehow I think it could be done without making
