  • Re: Crash During Basic Search

Thanks Melissa. Just for clarification, should I run the 'rebuild index" command or just merge the indexes? Also, do I need to merge indexes before doing a rebuild? Thanks again, Brent

  • Crash During Basic Search

When performing a basic search in my entire library for the phrase "moral rights" Logos 4.0a SR-3 crashes. I ran a couple other searches without the crash, but I can duplicate all the time with this phrase. I do have a supplemental index that I have not yet merged. When the crash occurs it is pulling hits from the supplemental index (New Resources section

  • Re: Not Understanding Hebrew Word Search Results

Yep...I'm running 4.0a SR-3. That would explain it. I'm kind of hesitant to go to the beta of 4.0b, but I may if it is going to be a while. Thanks for the info! That clarifies a lot. Brent

  • Not Understanding Hebrew Word Search Results

I am using BHS/WM 4.2 linked to ESV for studying. In Joshua 8:32 I am wanting to study the Hebrew word mishneh in the BHS (translated "copy" in the ESV). I click the word, and then perform a "Search this resource" on the lemma. It returns 0 results. I then click the word and do a morph search (lemma:מִשְׁנֶה@ncmsc). This also returns 0 results. However

Steps to reproduce: Open a reading plan (it opens in a floating window) Drag tab from floating window to a pane already opened that is is only utilizing half of the workspace Sit back and watch the reading plan tab jiggle and peg CPU Of course, the expected result is for the tab to display normally in the pane I drag it to without driving up the CPU

  • Re: Searching Hebrew words with a maqqef

Thanks again, Chris. That makes sense about searching for the surface text due to the change with the maqqef . I don't think this is something I will ordinarily be doing (searching word combos with maqqef ), but I will keep this in mind. Brent

You are correct: Numbers 16:1 (ESV) 1Now Korah the son of Izhar, son of Kohath, son of Levi, and Dathan and Abiram the sons of Eliab, and On the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took men. Brent

  • Re: Searching Hebrew words with a maqqef

Thanks for the reply, Chris. That does work, but I'm wondering if it takes the hyphen into account. I can do the same search without the hyphen with the same results, which is fine since it does produce the proper results in this case. I was performing a lemma search before on both of the words which was pulling more hits. I'm a year into learning Hebrew

  • Re: BHS Sympathetic Highlighting

Kevin, Excellent response! I was unaware of the problems with the other morphologies; that makes perfect sense. I will take your advice and hide the others as I do not have anything linked to them. Thanks again! Brent

  • Searching Hebrew words with a maqqef

Is there away to search for particular Hebrew words joined by a maqqef ? I can use the NEAR search operator, but that will pull results of those words if they are close together regardless of the maqqef . The specific example I am dealing with is in Proverbs 31:10 with isha-hayil . Thanks, Brent

  • BHS Sympathetic Highlighting

I have the ESV opened up in the left pane with sympathetic highlighting turned on. In the right pane I have BHS opened up. I notice that if I have the BHS: Westminster 4.0 Morphology or the BHS: Morphologically Tagged Edition opened up, the sympathetic highlighting option is not available. BHS: Westminster 4.2 Morphology does give me the option along

Thanks for the clarification, Mike. So the number installed from the DVD is seven. The previous bibliographic list I had must have been before the NLT download. Brent

  • Re: Can't find resources listed in L4?

Thanks Mark for the suggestion! I did something similar I should have thought of before. I also ordered the DVD when I made the L4 purchase. I popped it in and scanned the resource folder on it. Logos is now reindexing because it found seven books that were not downloaded when I first installed L4. I'm glad; now I have figure out which books did not
