• Re: Libronix on Windows 10

Further to my post above, I have now upgraded my laptop from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 and as far as I can see, Libronix 3.0g works much the same. As I said, there are minor problems which came in with Windows 7 or IE 9. The only problem I've really noticed is searching via the menu, but you can work around this by selecting a word in the text and then

I haven't tried Window 10 yet, but I recently installed Libronix 3.0g on a new Windows 8.1 system with IE 11 and it works fine except for one or two issues which I think started with Windows 7. I've been using the newer Logos since it came out, but I still find the old Libronix MDI interface easier, faster and more flexible for certain things, like
I've already given you at least one "deal breaker" preventing this from coming. Some publishers won't allow it. Open up any Zondervan title on your desktop app and try to use "read aloud."
I hadn't realised this as I don't use the Read Aloud feature much on the Windows desktop app. I don't have many Zondervan resources

Thanks Kevin, it's good to know that someone is working on it

When I voted for VoiceOver support, at first I thought it referred to the page turn issue, which was annoying. I hadn't realised that the whole resource reading function had been broken or removed in the latest version. This is a major setback for me and I can imagine that it is an amazing feature for those who are visually impaired. Mention has been

According to this thread http://community.logos.com/forums/p/83846/640293.aspx IOS VoiceOver it is not currently supported on the Logos App. It seems to work ok, except it intermittently loads the wrong page when page turning. This is not too much of a problem if you are following the text, because if you swipe two fingers again it will resume reading
As I mentioned earlier, VoiceOver integration isn't currently supported for Logos apps.
Are there any current plans to officially support IOS VoiceOver? It already works well, apart from the intermittent wrong page turns. IOS VoiceOver has a pretty realistic human voice which is quite easy to listen to, although

  • Re: IPAD:Read function

Unfortunately, there is a bug in the IPad/IOS VoiceOver integration that causes the Logos App to intermittently skip to reading the wrong page after a page turn. This typically happens after every four or five page turns. It's been discussed here: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/78113/574947.aspx

  • Re: bug in VoiceOver integration on iPad - skips ahead at page turn (often not always)

I also get this behaviour. it's just the same on both Logos and Vyrso for the iPad (Mini in my case). It turns the page correctly, but at the same time the actual reading jumps a few pages ahead (and I think also occasionally back). It seems to happen fairly randomly, but I'd say it rarely reads more than five pages without it happening at least once
Please help me to evaluate it, how do I know whether the translation is trustworthy?
I agree that the USB handbooks are very useful. I tend to compare the more dynamic equivalent based translations with a more literal translation like the NASB or NRSV. If the dynamic equivalent translation comes up with something surprising

The release date for the Logos REB and NEB seems to keep moving forward. For a while it was in June, then it went to July. It was yesterday, but now it's moved to next Monday. I've been waiting for an electronic version of these for ages and now the wait goes on! The NEB is especially useful; although it is dated. It was the first major modern English

  • Re: Search function stuck

Thanks for the free download link, I didn't know about that. Logos always want you to buy an upgrade package. I have quite a collection of resources that I've built up over around 15 years and I really don't want to pay for a baseline package. I've now tried Logos 5. It doesn't seem that different and performance is still an issue. I like to browse

I have the same problem; my Bible Search is stuck on "pray". I think it may have happened when I upgraded from Windows 7 to 8 which I think includes IE10. One work around is this. Select any piece of text in the Bible, right click and select menu options "Selected Text"-> "Speed search this resource". This will bring up a Bible search window and you

  • Re: Lexham English Bible: Printed Copies?

I would love to see a printed version of the Lexham Bible. I always like to refer to a more literal version when studying and that was always the NASB, but I find the Lexham much better. I also think the use of Yahweh makes parts of the OT read much better and I wish other versions had adopted this practice. Although it is promoted as a "second bible

I had problems in importing my notes/highlights to Logos 4 on my Windows 7 system. IMPORT ALL didn't report anything and appeared not to do anything. First I discoverd that Libronix was using D:\LibronixUser\Libronix DLS to store notes, highlights, toolbars etc. instead of Documents\Libronix DLS (C:\Users\David\Documents\Libronix DLS on my computer

  • Re: The New Interpreters Dictionary of the Bible

I would also love to see the NIBD available in Logos. My Abingdon version uses the old Folio Views document management software which, as far as I can determine, will not install on Vista or Windows 7. I couldn't get any help from Abingdon, but I found a patch from another supplier who uses the same software. Not very satifactory. David
