Thanks for the pointer.

I was looking for something simple , and that wouldn't distract me from the real work of preparation
-
Yes, had a look at the wiki, but then figured there had to be something simpler. I had also thought, clearly wrongly, PBB was to be the Sermon file of L3 replacement.

Thank you Dominic

I'm not sure where to look, and some direction would be appreciated. I'm looking for a simple way to create a yearly record/collection of my sermons in a Logos books, which could form a Collection and when searching for a Scripture reference would show any sermons I have on that text/passage. If anyone has created an example file in Word which would

[quote user="Rosie Perera"] Ah, if it's something that is happening beyond just Logos then I am guessing it is not a Logos problem. There was an intermediate beta version of Logos 4.0b (I think it was Beta 2) in which drag-and-drop to Favorites was temporarily completely broken, but I am guessing you do not have that beta, as it has been superseded

Thanks for the wiki reference. I only saw what I wanted to see. Isn't that an age old problem? However, I don't seem to be able to drag and drop anything at all on L4 that comes from outside of L4. I was able to, but for some reason I no longer can. Not from IE favourites, Firefox or any other item to the shortcuts bar. Incidentally, I have also noticed

Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't work Kind of strange - I have previously dragged a shortcut to Word onto the shortcut bar, now nothing outside of L4 will drop into anything of L4.

I have been reading how it should be possible to drag a link from IE8 to Favourites in L4, or drag a folder from Windows explorer to Favourites in L4. However, I can drag most things within L4 to Favourites, but anything outside of L4 is a no go. Does anyone know why, or have I misread things and what I am trying to do isn't possible after all. There must be some way of letting us know what an installation is downloading. I find it a little disconcerting that my system is downloading stuff, and I have no control (apart from turning updates off) or knowledge of what it is doing without doing a search through the forums.

Thanks for your help George, my L4 is now functioning fully on my laptop. I didn't have to download all my resources, L4 is no longer insisting it download resources again, and the missing pictures on the home page was resolved by temporarily changing a setting the customize home page.

[quote user="George Allakhverdyan"] [quote user="AlbertREsselbrugge"] Thank you George I had a careful read of the thread you sent. I have tried everything suggested in this forum, and everything is working. All my resources are fully available, BUT, L4 keeps on insisting on downloading over 6G of resources. Anyone have any suggestions on how to tell L4 it doesn't have to download anything? Typing "Update now", tells me there are no updates, but then it proceeds to download updates

Hi This question may have been answered elsewhere, but I can't find it. I have just installed L4 onto a new laptop running Win7. To avoid having to download all my resources again I copied resources from my desktop to the laptop (c:\...\AppData\Local\Logos4\Data\random numbers\ResourceManager\Resources). On running L4 on the laptop all the resources

Hi Mark, I had already tried deleting the file, but no joy. Your last remark however did the trick. Running L4 as Administrator seems to have resolved the issue. I normally run my system as admin., but for some reason explicitly choosing run as admin resolved the update problem. Thanks

Thanks for the responses, but checking the properties of the "es-MX" folder shows the "Read-only" box coloured in, and clearing it makes no difference. I can delete the file "Logos4.resources.dll", and paste it back without any issues. The file is not "read-only", but the installation of the update refuses to go any further.

My Logos4 informed me this morning that it wanted to install an update, which I clicked 'yes' to, but after initiating the installation it came up with a file and folder asking me if I could confirm access. It would not proceed. The file and folder exist in my system. The message is "Error writing to file:" and references a file called "Logos4.resources

How about the ability to install shortcuts to programs (eg MSWord etc)?
