• Re: Logos Is Too Expensive
I agree. The new merger with Wordsearch forced me back to try the free Logos they offered. They haven't transferred part of my library. The use of logos is far less user friendly than Wordsearch. And I can't write my sermon on the program unless I want to pay way too much. Not only is cost too much but including at least
We're investigating if there's a way to import Doxa products. It's complex. Most of them weren't actually officially Wordsearch products. They were "CROSS Compatible" and "Powered by WORDsearch," which allowed them to be used in Wordsearch but weren't part of the official set of Wordsearch licenses and files hosted

Bradley -- I appreciate all you men and women at Logos are doing with the Wordsearch transition to Logos. I'll hold onto any questions for a couple of weeks while all of this plays out. Thanks, again.

This is welcomed news. As a Mac user, I hardly rarely went to my Wordsearch library because the experience was not good. It will be great accessing them in Logos.
Here's my setup... Just finished getting the dual monitors.
Kevin, I realize you posted this almost a year ago, but is this the same setup you have now? I’m curious about the monitors that you would use. I appreciate your Bible study and sermon prep tech insights.

  • Re: 86% Off: Daniel Block on Ezekiel

I did my MDiv (actually, my 2nd MDiv -- long story) at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary when Dr. Block was there but somehow did not have him as a professor, something that I regret to this day. When I saw this course was on CP for something like $180, I immediately bid that, never envisioning it would drop to $60. The email announcing the final
Trying to go from erasmian to koine pronouciation. I would love an audio Greek New Testament in koine, but the only one on logos is erasmian. John Schwandt's mobile ed course on Greek is in koine, so when are we going to to get an audio NT to match?
I take it that there is no audio New Testament in koine pronunciation
We should be sending out messages about the upgrade pricing for current LA151 or LA161 owners today, and LA171 and LA181 should be showing up in the Courses Tool soon. The biggest difference between the new courses and the previous versions is in the Greek course. LA181 is taught by a different speaker—Daniel Zacharias

  • Re: LORD formatting when pasting

Gavin, Pages is certainly a pain when pasting "Lord" with small caps from Logos. I think it's on the Pages end of things, not Logos. I prefer Pages to Word, especially since I don't have to pay an annual subscription since Pages is an Apple product, so I go to the effort of manually replacing "Lord" with the small caps version. This deficiency on Pages

Thanks, Ben. That is a good price. What computer are you using with the LG 32"? Are the fonts sharp (crisp)?
I have a hp240A and a Dell widescreen Ultrasharp U2917w at home and work. Really like them both. The 29 inch widescreen Dell is wonderful with Logos. Lots of screen real estate. I have a 13 inch Mac Book Pro 2019 with touch bar.
Welcome to the forums, Rob, and thanks for the suggestions.

Not to trivialize your suggestion, a good one, but it may look great at Best Buy, but will it be connected to a 13” MBP? I would like for the fonts on the monitor to look as crisp as my MBP
Your best bet is to go and look for yourself. Monitors (like TV’s) are often sold as exclusives to particular stores. BestBuy will sell model xcv2A and Walmart will sell xcv2B. Furthermore, what one user appreciates about a monitor, another can’t stand. It is highly subjective.
Thanks, JT. My concern

  • Seeking recommendations for an external monitor for Logos and Bible study

I have an Apple-refurbished 2018 13” MacBook Pro (2.3 GHz quad-core, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD) that is scheduled to be delivered on Wednesday. Because the computer is replacing my ruined larger-screen 15” MBP (backing over your computer bag can do stuff like that), I’m considering an external monitor. I’m looking for recommendations

Thanks, Ben. I’m planning to order a 2019 13”, 2.4GHz, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD. I had read the same points about SSD sizes over the past week or so. I don’t really have the luxury of waiting till 2020 to see whether the rumor of a new keyboard is true. I backed over my computer bag a few days ago and destroyed my 2012 15” rMBP. As

Thanks, Mike. I would need to figure out a setup that is not distracting. I tried to use an external monitor years ago as an second display, but perhaps the monitor was too large or I was coming about it all wrong. Perhaps I need to look into that again.
