Thanks, Mike. I would need to figure out a setup that is not distracting. I tried to use an external monitor years ago as an second display, but perhaps the monitor was too large, the font resolution too poor, or I was coming about it all wrong. Perhaps I need to look into that again. For what it’s worth, that was back when I was using Windows machines
I love it. I’m thinking of getting a new one.
That’s good to hear. I was initially skeptical of the utility of the smaller MBP, but price started to force the issue and the prospect of a smaller footprint is a positive one. Plus, using the 10.5 iPP the past several days has me looking forward to the ”larger” 13
Actually, they also released new Laptops too. This means either get a newly released model OR an older model at a better price. If you have any ties to academia, Back to School began today as well.
When you say “new,” JT, do you mean that Apple updated their models? If so, I saw that after Levi’s post, and you

Thanks, Levi! I had not seen that. I’ll definitely check it out.

Is there any advantage to having an i7 processor instead of an i5? My expectation is that there would be little real-world difference for Logos. Any thoughts on that?
I've had laptops with both processors over the years and you are right, there is little difference for Logos...I dare say that

Thank you, Reuben, Levi, and Steve . . . very helpful points. Like Levi, I don’t like a lot of distraction, so the 13.3” may work well. It’s good to know that discrete graphics are a non-issue. That saves some money. Is there any advantage to having an i7 processor instead of an i5? My expectation is that there would be little real world difference

Thanks, PetahChristian. Those are good points. I appreciate your sharing them. I’ve read that rumors from reliable sources posit that the updated iPad Air to be released later this year is to return to a modified scissors-type keyboard, but that it would be 2020 before new MacBook Pros had them. I could perhaps wait a couple of months if updated MBPs

I ruined my 15” 2012 retina MacBook Pro a few days ago and need to replace it since I’m reduced to working on my 10.5” iPad Pro (thankful that the iPP survived). The iPP is a great little tablet with the Smart Keyboard, but it’s no computer replacement, especially for Logos. I keep computers for a long time. With that in mind, I’m trying to buy the

Bill, did you ever get an answer to your question?
-
The inclusion of the Yale edition of The Works of Jonathan Edwards makes Reformed Platinum an attractive offering. The question is whether I will ever read or utilize more than the two-volume Banner of Truth edition that I already have? Maybe . . . still, that package becomes a great buy with dynamic pricing. I’m to the place where packages often have
Since BibleWorks is closing, many BibleWorks users are trying to figure out what to do with their notes and other user content they’ve invested into the platform for years or decades. We are working on a tool that will allow you to import your BibleWorks notes and some other user content into Logos. We don’t yet
I believe it was about 1995 that Logos bought the rights to the old CDWORD program, which I had. I immediately took upgrade offer to Logos Bible Software. So, for more than 20 years I have been a satisfied customer of Logos, which is now Faithlife. I realize that there are people who had a similar long relationship with
Didn’t see in there. So so you had canceled and got an email regarding getting back in at the grandfathered price? I’ve emailed CS last week and they said in a few weeks I might get an email. I don’t want to be a pest but I don’t want to miss out on this either.
You won’t miss out. Is your subscription active? Regardless
-
Meaning you had canceled before the new Faithlife Connect tiers rolled out?
I had not canceled but I had stopped auto-renew because I was unsure if I wanted to continue Logos Now when my subscription was set to expire this coming August.
-
Have any previous Logos Now users gotten an email yet about the grandfathered in price?
Tim, I received an email to that effect on March 8.

Confusion needed clearing up, Bootjack, and you went to the source and got it cleared up. That is wisdom in my opinion. Come out from under the coffee table and enjoy a good book.

Indeed, it is. I don't think there is a bad choice.
I presently am grandfathered into FLC (Essentials No Library). I never have nor do I need the Mobile Ed Courses / Faithlife V. But this is what's making me think I actually do not need FLC Essentials for the only thing I'm actually getting that remotely interests me is the new tools between the updates, e.g. between Logos 7 &
I was waiting for someone to pick up on the "later this week" !!! :-) So again, it seems since I have the Full Feature Set in Logos 7 and will have that in Logos 8 when that comes around the corner, I'm not really getting a whole lot for the 130.00 plus Canadian dollars. Would you concur? Also considering I have all the books
-
I haven't gotten an email yet but I did check my subscriptions page and it was changed to: Faithlife Connect Essentials - No Library (formerly Logos Now) - Annual @ $99.99/year
Were it not for the Logos forums, and this thread in particular, I would not know that Logos Now is almost no more and that I had been switched
