  • Re: New E-Ink option for Faithlife apps

I understand - but if someone wants to have a Faithlife app on E-Ink, it's hard to beat the $149 price tag of this Nook!

That is correct! I was not expecting this, but that is what happened. The next time that Faithlife mobile apps get an update, I'll see if the same thing happens with my Nook.

The last time I downloaded an app from apkpure.com , what happened was that a notice came up on the top notification bar on my device when an update was available. I tapped the notice and the update downloaded and installed. It should work the same way here.

Besides, my Nook arrived only yesterday. I'm still in the process of learning how it works and what I can do with it. Incidentally, I tried it. It works fine.

  • New E-Ink option for Faithlife apps

Behold the new Nook Glowlight 4, with Verbum running! This Nook was just released by Barnes & Noble last week. You do not need to root this device to install apps. If you are familiar with ADB install, you can do it. The Glowlight 4 is an E-Ink device with a six inch display. It runs Android 8.1. It has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. You can

  • Re: Logos/Verbum on Onyx Boox Note Air 2

This is a follow-up to one of my previous emails in this thread. Onyx had promised to fix the glitch we found in installing Faithlife apps on the Note Air 2 in the next update. I got an update today. I have Verbum, so I decided to test the updated firmware by installing Logos. It installed flawlessly! This update is dates November 22. Those of you who

  • Re: E Ink Tablet That Can Run Logos

I have an Onyx Boox Note Air 2. It is a much larger device than the Poke - 10.3 in. display, similar to an iPad - and runs on Android 11. It has 64GB of internal storage. Onyx had an uneven record in the past in maintaining updates on their devices. However, they seem to be doing much better with their newer devices. For example, although some newer

I'm glad it's working well for you! There is a learning curve with a Boox tablet. The user's manual could do a better job. Still, if you find that an eInk tablet is easier to look at for longer periods of time than a conventional tablet, then a Boox tablet is a great partner for Verbum or any Faithlife app!

  • Re: Logos/Verbum on Onyx Boox Note Air 2

I contacted Onyx through the Feedback feature of my device about the issue with Verbum (and other Faithlife apps), and they responded that they would check it out. They did, and responded again: "It needs to deploy other Google components if you install and run the app from the Play Store. We will add them in the next version." Sounds promising!

  • Re: Logos/Verbum on Onyx Boox Note Air 2

I need to add one more thing. When you install the older version of Verbum/Logos and find that it works, you should get a notification on your device that an upgrade is available. Upgrade in that way. If you upgrade through Google Play, Logos/Verbum will crash when you try to run it after the upgrade. So, one glitch seems to be how Logos/Verbum interacts

Well, I worked at it and I finally got Verbum to work! If anyone is having a similar problem, this may help you. However, YMMV!! 1) Go to Settings/Other Accounts. Click "Manage" at System Account Settings. Click "Add account". Sign in to your Faithlife account here. 2) Go to apkpure.com . Download an older version of the Verbum/Logos app. I used 9.02

  • Logos/Verbum on Onyx Boox Note Air 2

My new Onyx Boox Note Air 2 arrived today. I started installing apps and loading ebooks and pdfs onto it. I also attempted to install Verbum. Verbum works beautifully on my Onyx Boox Nova 2. Surprisingly, the Note Air 2, which runs Android 11, is a different story. Verbum installs. The sign-in screen comes up when I start up the app. Once I sign in

  • Victorine Texts in Translation

A six-volume collection of these texts is already on pre-pub. However, the original publisher has nine volumes out thus far. I hope that FL can get permission to offer all nine eventually!

  • Re: Suggested history resources including Cisterian and Reformation volumes

Verbum has recently released on Pre-Pub a collection of Victorine Texts in Translation. The Abbey of St. Victor in the 12th century produced some extremely important works of theology and what we would call today spirituality. I'd love to see all of the suggested resources on Verbum soon. I'll put in a little plug for the Abbey of St. Victor and suggest

If the mobile app serves your needs, the iPad Air will work very well. If you need the desktop app, check out the Surface Go 2. Don't get the Pentium Gold CPU - too slow for Logos. Get the M3 CPU. That version also has 8 GB of RAM and a 128 GB SSD. It has a microSD card slot for more storage. There is also a 256 GB SSD Business version, but affordability

My copy opened up to Thursday of the Fifth Week of Easter, but not Ascension Thursday (which it is in some US dioceses). Looking over the presentation, my guess is that, if someone wishes to pray from the Verbum LOTH, they would do well to set up a Layout in the desktop version that would open LOTH in two windows and have another window for the Scripture

  • Re: App on Onyx Boox Nova 3

I have the Onyx Boox Nova 2 that runs Android 9.0. The Verbum mobile app looks and runs quite well on it. Onyx firmware includes optimizations that help apps like Verbum/Logos look like they were designed for E-ink. I have no idea why the OP is having trouble with his Nova 3. Other than uninstalling and reinstalling, I don't have any suggestions. It
