• Re: Using a Mac with i7 vs. Mac i5 with Logos

For those who may not know this, if you are considering any Mac, take a look at Apple's refurbished selection on their online store. You can often get 10-15% discounts. Sometimes, you get other pleasant surprises. A couple of months ago, I decided to upgrade and get a newer MacBook Pro. I bought an i5 that I saw on the refurbished site. When it came

  • St. Thomas the Apostle - died in 1972????

For those of you who have Saint of the Day on your Verbum home page - did you see where St. Thomas' date of death is given as 12/21/1972? Hey, I could have actually met him! But, as he was told, "Blessed are they who have not seen but have believed"!

Is a Verbum version of the 6.4 update for Mac available? There's no great hurry, but I am curious! I can download verbum.dmg from Verbum.com , but is it 6.4? Thanks!
Yes, the download link at Verbum.com should be the latest version of the program.
Thanks, Bradley

This might work. My one concern is that the web site for this product says nothing about blocking blue light, whereas the Uxex one (the glasses pictured earlier on this thread) specifically mentions blue light blocking.

A fascinating discussion! Sorry to get in on this a little late. Certainly, all the works mentioned here would be a solid introduction to Catholic systematic theology. However, to the Catechism I would add the Compendium of the Social Doctrine of the Church. Otherwise, there would be a whole realm of Church teaching that one might miss entirely. Secondly

Would those goggles/glasses fit over one's eyeglasses? I've tried researching this, and can't seem to find a definitive answer.

It looks like the Surface 3 does, indeed, run full windows, which means you would get the same experience as on your desktop. From there, it sounds like you're looking for the "reading view" in the panel menu (press F11 on your desktop). Does that seem like it will accomplish what you're looking for

Most people find that Logos runs best on a device that has at least 8 gb of RAM, an i5 processor, and an SSD. If the display size of the new Surface 3 is fine for you, you can get a used Surface Pro 2, with an i5, 8 gb of RAM, and a 256 GB SSD (and Type Cover) in good condition on places like eBay for about $650. A used Surface Pro 3 with Type Cover

Unfortunately, some E-Ink Android devices don't have the hardware to run the latest version of Logos properly. The Onyx Boox T68 and your I86 are two examples. The 4.3.9 version of the app that Kevin pointed out is the latest version of the app that will work on your device. However, the Onyx Boox C67 (AfterGlow 2) and Boyue T62 run the latest version

I was wondering if the Surface 3 used SSD like the Surface Pro, because the Microsoft site (yesterday) didn't say "SSD". As a further point of reference, my Lenovo ThinkPad 8 uses eMMC. It takes about 25 seconds for me to get Logos up and running on it if there are no updates. The Surface 3 should do no worse; it may do a little better. The Surface

I have an i5 laptop with an SSD and 8 GB of RAM, and a Lenovo Thinkpad 8 that has an Atom processor but 4 GB of RAM. No question - my laptop runs Logos 6 much faster. However, the Lenovo, with that 4 GB, isn't bad. For me, I like being able to have my whole Logos library on a more portable device with full Logos 6 functionality when needed, offline

The Surface 3 has one of a newer generation of Atom processors that are a step up from what the Dell Venue 8 Pro and similar 8 inch Windows tablets have. 4 GB of RAM is also a step up. What isn't clear from Microsoft's site is whether the Surface 3 has a true SSD like the Surface Pro has. If it does, I would expect good performance and good battery
