Just a quick update on a couple of issues. 1) Highlighting with pen: Using the Surface app, I increased the pen sensitivity to about 7 from its default low value. Now highlighting works much better to the point that I am rarely having to redo selections. I am not sure what impact this has on drawing but it is a fix if you find the same issue I had.

hmm thats a tough price point. My two top Windows laptops right now (from what I read on review sites, and from a normal consumer perspective) is the Dell XPS 13 or the HP Spectre 360. The XPS 13 non-touch has a regular price of about $1000, and the Spectre is probably more expensive but better value for money. I would wait to see if there are some

Hi Shane, What is your current laptop and what is your budget?
Bill - if I may ask, what laptop did you get to run Logos on? Thanks!
Thanks Bill. I think what you cite are actual flaws with the device and I think those carry over to the SP4, apart from the keyboard in which the keys have actually been spaced out to be just like the Air and similar laptops. I am in the reverse situation actually, I used to carry my tablet everyday on the train but found that I had so much time during

    Thanks Michael.
Thanks for your excellent review. I am a Surface Pro fan. Being so poor / cheap, I tend to run a few years behind the latest technology. I used Surface Pro 2 happily for a couple of years. Now with Surface Pro 4 coming out, I decided to upgrade to Surface Pro 3, because they are on sale to make room for

  • Surface Pro 4 & Logos - Initial Review

Hi everyone, I know a few commenters had asked me to write my thoughts on the new Surface Pro (SP) 4 and Logos. This is very much a review in progress and I intend to update it as I spend more time with the device. I got the i5 with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD, yesterday. I installed Logos on it and allowed it to index overnight. I brought it to work today

I would love this too but do not have high hopes for it. This seems to be only at the ebook sites

I think Mark did a great job of describing the Logos necessities here. http://community.logos.com/forums/p/104444/722342.aspx#722342

  • Re: Surface 4pro i5 or i7 for Logos?

I personally preordered the i5. My rationale: As a Logos user, I don't think the additional GPU headroom is going to make a significant difference. I think Logos is more dependent on CPU (minimal difference between Skylake i5 and i7 apart from integrated GPU in real-life scenarios; benchmarks are a different story), and the speed of the SSD (Go for

How will the tagging be on this resource from other resources? As in, would existing Logos resources like commentaries be updated to take advantage?

https://vyrso.com/product/17418/all-is-grace-a-ragamuffin-memoir by Brennan Manning, a widely influential writer especially for many Christian artists such as Rich Mullins. Should be an interesting read. PS: Is it bad if the title now makes me crave an English muffin?

Thanks Edwin and Vyrso. I wonder if a sermon illustration version of this (or something similar) is available. For a certain crowd, sports illustrations work great in sermons.

Thanks Bill. I intend to install Logos on it and write a basic review of using Logos on it. If anyone had questions, let me know. I should get it on the 26th, barring any unforeseen circumstances.

Pre-ordered an i5 SP4 with 8 gigs of RAM and 256 GB SSD. Pre-ordered an i5 SP4 with 8 gigs of RAM and 256 GB SSD. Was tempted to go for the i7 since in the Skylake generation of processors, there is a meaningful upgrade of the integrated GPU from the i5 to i7.

Thanks Bradley. 0.05 seconds. Lightning quick. PS: I am currently implementing Solr for a product at work and I am now way more sympathetic to the intricacies of indexed text searching. Logos has done a great job with search.

  • [UPDATED] Wildcard Highlighter search takes a long time

Hello Logosians, I am using one of the Logos tips here ( https://wiki.logos.com/finding_highlighted_text#Searching_for_all_highlighted_text_in_a_resource ) to find all my highlighted text in a commentary (ZECNT on the Johannine Epistles). However, it just keeps searching for a long time before returning any results. Screenshot attached. Its fine if

I believe it is around 1.6 lbs. As in lighter than the SP4 which makes sense since there are fewer batteries in the tablet portion than the SP4. Played with an SP4 in store. A core i5 with 4 gb ram was blazing fast, so I am guessing i5 with 8 GB is going to be the sweet spot. The new type cover is good too.

  • Re: Has the strong US dollar impacted your Logos purchasing habits?

Didnt want to start a new thread but could Logos accounting give us more options to pay than just credit card? I am thinking USD Wire Transfer for example or even Paypal. The current FX rate plus the surcharge banks take for FX credit card transactions are what are really hurting right now.
