  • Re: BWS and the Translation Ring

I just discovered that the Lexham Analytical Lexicon of the Hebrew Bible (LXHEBANLEX) will provide me with the info I need under its section 'Greek Alignments'. I would like this option in the BWS ring but nonetheless this is helpful.

  • BWS and the Translation Ring

I am wanting to know with which Lemmas the LXX translates a given Hebrew word. When I do a BWS and go to the translation ring having my translation set as Logos LXX I get this: The problem is that it returns not the Greek lemmas but all the various forms of the Greek used. I want to be able somehow in Logos to get the results like I find in HAL: I ע

  • Logos 8 irritants

I am a long time logos user and am irritated that with the arrival of Logos 8, in the search pane, they have eliminated "Basics", "Logical Operators", etc. Why would they do this??? And when can we expect it back? Why is it difficult to now see which resources are in the same link set? When you have just half a dozen bibles open on one half of your

  • Re: right click searching within a resource

What I do find helpful is that if I do a right click search on 'this resource' and then change the search window to display the parameters I want (such as "Ephesians" instead of "All Passages") and then change that search window to 'Send searches here' then all subsequent right click searches (lemma or root) will retain the earlier parameters.

  • Re: L6 will not find occurrence of λέγω@VAAI3S

I get it if Logos wants to treat λέγω and εἶπον as two separate words. Just the same it doesn't make a whole lot of sense on one level because students are taught via principal charts to see them as the same word. But I can live with that. What doesn't make any sense to me at all is that when

  • θεῖον, ου, τό versus θεῖος, θεία, θεῖον

I don't know where to post what I see as errors in Logos' morphological tagging so I'll post here. The problem I am experiencing is when I do a right click lemma search on the word θεῖον in Psalm 10:6 in Logos LXX. It ends up searching <Lemma = lbs/el/θεῖος> instead of <Lemma = lbs/el/θεῖον>

  • syntax searching

    1. Where is the best place to go to learn how to write complex syntax searches? 2. Why when I write the search below do I get multiple hits for the same verse? 3. What would be the best way to write a search so as to find all accusatives of general reference (where the subject of an infinitive is a noun in the accusative)? My search parameters: My search

  • Re: sorting through a search result

Thank you for the link to 'passage list'. This is a resource I will begin to make much more use of. I didn't try word sense as I was looking for exact words. But it might be something I try as a catch all later.

  • Re: sorting through a search result

Dave, perhaps an explanation of what I was trying to do will help... I was searching for any 'kingdom of God' type ideas in the LXX and so composed this search string and ran it in the LES. <Root = lbs/el/βασιλευς>WITHIN 5 WORDS (<Lemma = lbs/el/οὐρανός> OR <Lemma

  • sorting through a search result

I have just done a large search that produced 883 hits. I want to now, as I review these hits, mark those that I deem relevant and then sort according to that 'mark'. Or some such thing. This would help me to leave the hits visible in the search window but easily identifiable as the ones I want to research further. Any suggestions?

  • Re: Right click searching

Reuben, Thanks for this! I did not know about this function and it certainly helps. I tried it and it works well. I'll remain hopeful that the smart guys in Logos will see the advantage to being able to do this directly via the right click menu. That would enable you to do root searches as well into the LXX from the Greek NT. By the way I see you're

  • Right click searching

I would like to be able to right click search within the UBS4 or NA28 and be able to have an option for this search to include the LXX. I would find this extremely valuable. In short it would be nice if we were able to customize the left hand side of the right click menu under 'Search' to include whatever collection we wanted to search. As well a few

Why not have an additional option in the right click menu to 'search this book' then? That would be helpful.
