Thanks each one of you for your helpful responses. This helps me to make sense of this.

  • Re: Error in search for in Bibles with Reverse Interlinears

I see. The question then becomes, “How many other places does the SBLGNT not include a word or a phrase that is in the UBS4 or the NA28?” I have grown used to relying on right click searching within an English text for a Greek lemma and imagining that the search results would be consistent with the same search done in the UBS4. This is one

  • Error in search for in Bibles with Reverse Interlinears

If you do a search for <Lemma = lbs/el/εἰρήνη> in the UBS4 or NA28 it returns 92 results including Luke 24:36. However if you do the same search in the LEB or any other reverse interlinear bible it returns 91 results and Luke 24:36 is not included. If I should to send these kinds of errors to some other place please let me know

Thank you. Hopefully someone will catch that next time this book is updated. Perhaps you could forward this error to those who need to know.

  • Re: Exegetical Guide returning incomplete results re Commentaries

I was getting a message there was an error in uploading this post so I tried again and got the same error. Turns out they both were loaded :-). Just ignore this one.

  • Re: Exegetical Guide not returning a complete search for 'All Commentaries"

Yes, that will take me to the right section. But my point is that if I don't have Larkin's open and I simply want a list of all of my commentaries that make notes on Acts 15:16 the Exegetical Guide will exclude the IVP. If I search via the exegetical guide for Acts 15:13 I get it a hit for the IVP series. But if I search the same way for Acts 15:16

  • Re: Info tool

Ok, this is very helpful. I didn't actually clue into the full implications of your first response. It looked to me like the info tool was working off of a set of parameters I had set for an early 'text comparison' parameter. But now I realize that it has listed all the reverse interlinear bibles in the order that I have them prioritized. Thanks again

  • Re: Info tool

Thank John, I understand that the info tool will only work with reverse interlinears. And I know how to use the text comparison tool to have it use different translations. What I don't know how to do is to change the bible translations that are used within the info tool to generate its results. Without opening the text comparison tool itself I like

  • Info tool

I like to use the translation section in the info tool but it's not comparing the translations I would like it to. I want it to compare all English translations. And, when I click the 'Text Comparison' link in the info tool it's defaulted to the same list of translations I don't want to use. How do I change this?

  • Re: BWS and the Translation Ring

I just discovered that the Lexham Analytical Lexicon of the Hebrew Bible (LXHEBANLEX) will provide me with the info I need under its section 'Greek Alignments'. I would like this option in the BWS ring but nonetheless this is helpful.

  • BWS and the Translation Ring

I am wanting to know with which Lemmas the LXX translates a given Hebrew word. When I do a BWS and go to the translation ring having my translation set as Logos LXX I get this: The problem is that it returns not the Greek lemmas but all the various forms of the Greek used. I want to be able somehow in Logos to get the results like I find in HAL: I ע

  • Logos 8 irritants

I am a long time logos user and am irritated that with the arrival of Logos 8, in the search pane, they have eliminated "Basics", "Logical Operators", etc. Why would they do this??? And when can we expect it back? Why is it difficult to now see which resources are in the same link set? When you have just half a dozen bibles open on one half of your

  • Re: right click searching within a resource

What I do find helpful is that if I do a right click search on 'this resource' and then change the search window to display the parameters I want (such as "Ephesians" instead of "All Passages") and then change that search window to 'Send searches here' then all subsequent right click searches (lemma or root) will retain the earlier parameters.

  • Re: L6 will not find occurrence of λέγω@VAAI3S

I get it if Logos wants to treat λέγω and εἶπον as two separate words. Just the same it doesn't make a whole lot of sense on one level because students are taught via principal charts to see them as the same word. But I can live with that. What doesn't make any sense to me at all is that when

  • θεῖον, ου, τό versus θεῖος, θεία, θεῖον

I don't know where to post what I see as errors in Logos' morphological tagging so I'll post here. The problem I am experiencing is when I do a right click lemma search on the word θεῖον in Psalm 10:6 in Logos LXX. It ends up searching <Lemma = lbs/el/θεῖος> instead of <Lemma = lbs/el/θεῖον>

  • syntax searching

    1. Where is the best place to go to learn how to write complex syntax searches? 2. Why when I write the search below do I get multiple hits for the same verse? 3. What would be the best way to write a search so as to find all accusatives of general reference (where the subject of an infinitive is a noun in the accusative)? My search parameters: My search

  • Re: sorting through a search result

Thank you for the link to 'passage list'. This is a resource I will begin to make much more use of. I didn't try word sense as I was looking for exact words. But it might be something I try as a catch all later.
