• Re: L6 download speed...

Thanks :) But, I might pass on the workaround for now. I've emailed tech support about this because it's obviously a fairly big bug that needs squashing. I've deleted every L6 related file on the new user account and the behaviour is still very easily repeatable.

Okay, I tried the scan command and I couldn't get it to work. (the command literally doesn't function, not to mention how hard it is to pull up the address of a hidden folder on another user account under Yosemite) Just because of time I'm going to forget Logos 6 for a few weeks until I have the time to find a hairbrained scheme to get around this.

Not sure how to effectively quote here, so... My total download is just under 5 gigs. I have about 400 resources. So, not insanely large. But I hear what you're saying. Sorry, you're right I'm installing. I used the wrong word there. I am upgrading from L5, but definitely not updating the L5 app. This is all in the new user account. In the shared applications

Ta for the wiki page. Hadn't seen that.

  • Re: L6 download speed...

I'm just about to head off to bed, so forgive me if my reply is a bit slow after this :) I'm moving to a new user account (dedicated to bible study), and I believe trying to shift stuff over is a bit of a nightmare. So I thought I could handle a 5 or so gig download under a new user account. I don't believe I have any especially large resources. So

Thanks alabama24, as usual! The problem is, this is the initial download. I haven't gotten into Logos at this stage, so I can't do anything. My computer has been restarted, however... EDIT: I should also mention, I had no issues with L5 downloads under Yosemite.

  • L6 download speed...

So I upgraded L5 (crossgrade) and picked up a new commentary, and decided I'd do a full download of it all into a new user account on my Mac. Seemed simple, except the download speed is really, really slow. I'm happy to wait for it, but I thought I'd check and see if it was normal at the moment to be downloading at crazy slow speeds. Right now I'm looking

  • Re: Downloading 10GIG Again. Is It Possible to PAUSE Download?

I believe if you quit Logos, when you start it again it will start the download at 0%, but it will be downloading less than the amount from before. Worst way to describe it, but... :)

  • Re: Logos6 still unusable after a week of downloading

I'm sure you haven't wasted money on it. Not sure what you mean by the 'help info at Logos' but... how large is your library? I assume everything has finished downloading and you just have an indexing problem now...

Thanks Mark! That's what I thought... but I became a little unsure when the Gold package was mentioned as the one to get, to use all the features of L6. Do you know if the other base packages (like the Charismatic one) enable all the features of L6?

  • The slightly confusing upgrading methods to L6...

So unless I'm missing something, upgrading to L6 is a tough one to figure out. On the "Ways to Move to Logos 6" page it says, *Some features require specific resources to work. These resources are included in Gold or higher-level base packages. And that's fine, except the specific base packages that don't have a Gold version. Does this mean that packages

I wasn't sure, to be honest. But looking into things it seems not... unless there's some round about way I've missed.

  • Two questions about the Send to Kindle option...

Does the Send to Kindle option work with every resource, or just some? And, any chance we could get a Send to Kobo as well? :)

  • Re: Why are the iOS apps so badly designed?

Denise, you lost me at 'Sure'. Matt, I completely agree. And, can I suggest that if the mobile was the primary version it might help if the forums weren't for the most part broken on the iPad.

Hey Bob, I appreciate the detailed reply and the info about why you guys have taken the steps to get where you are. Your post doesn't sound defensive at all. As much as I feel parts of the app are badly designed, I am also asking the question, "Why?" So, thanks :) Obviously there's a certain part of the app that I wouldn't want to throw into the 'badly

Just a few replies here, because the quoting on this forum is really bad (and the entire forum doesn't work on under iOS... somewhat ironic).
For starters, read the title of your thread!
That wasn't rude. Blunt, yes. But if a person like me thinks the apps are badly designed then the title is pretty much on par. Anyone
Is that what you are saying? Not that the app as is is necessarily broken but that it needs more fine tuning to be complete?
Yeah, pretty much. It certainly isn't broken (in some ways it's great!), but I think the app needs more than fine tuning. It has some really badly designed elements, and that means going back
