  • source citation when pasting into Google Doc

When I copy text from a resource in Logos 5 and paste it into a Google Doc, it is not automatically citing the source of the excerpt, either within the main content of the GDoc or as a footnote. Are there some settings either in GDoc or in Logos which I am not seeing? The only setting in Logos I can find is "Copy Citations" which I have set as "Yes

Thanks Dave! You've reinforced the point in a way. If a word is used as a metaphor, does that mean it is actually a different word in that instance? But that gets us into a whole range of lexical issues beyond the original question in this thread. The joys of language!!! The main thing is, now I understand better how Logos functions in its searches

Thanks everyone for the extremely helpful explanations. Re Mark's point/question "Are they two different words, or one word?" You've hit the nail on the head. In the English example "hold" is it really two different words, or a semantic range of one word? Or, back to my original question, are the occurrences of צֶלֶם in the psalms really a different

Thanks Bradley. So it's all a matter of the translation section of the BWS being based on the LHB morphology. Is there a way of choosing which morphology to link the translation section to? And does anyone know which morphology does the least breaking up of lemmas into spearate meanings?

I just tried doing a Bible Word Study on lemma:צֶלֶם in BHS/WIVU by right clicking on the occurrence in Gen 1:26, choosing lemma:צֶלֶם and then clicking on Bible Word Study. Although the morph search done the same way shows 17 occurrences, the translation section of the Bible Word Study only shows 14, apparently based on the translation "image." The

Thanks for the input. Very helpful. So if I understand it correctly, the issue is that certain morphologies distinguish between lemma:צֶ֫לֶם.2 and lemma:צֶ֫לֶם.1 based on the english translation in the various passages. That's frustrating because it skews the results of lemma searches based on decisions made by previous interpreters. So if someone wants

  • search misses occurances

When I do a Bible Word Study or a search on the lemma צֶלֶם, neither PS 39:6 nor Ps 73:20 are listed as places where this word occurs. Why?

Thanks! This is very helpful. How do I enable/disable the "Popular highlights" visual filter? I couldn't find it in documents or preferences or in a help search

  • links to other resources missing in L5

In WBC Vol 34a I am noticing that where I expect links to other resources in my library I have only text, as in the following example: Eventually, under the inflluence of literary criticism (see Peterson, Criticism ) the discussion has shifted more to the Gospel as a whole viewed as the literary product of the evangelist. [6 highlights] Mark has again

  • L5 Well worth it

I finally took the plunge and purchased the minimum crossgrade. Installation was quick and easy. Already I see huge improvements on L4. L5 program runs faster and smoother (I have an old white macbook running OSX 10.6.8 with 4G memory and about 48 G left on my hard drive). I just started playing with the biblical places and people tool and am blown

Hugely confusing. I hope they're able to fix the bug soon. I'm going to wait until it is clear what I am actually getting before I make any purchase.

Yes, I scrolled down and looked at all the dots. there were only the three mentioned. I understand and even like the idea of add-ons. To me it just seems that their comparison charts aren't working properly - the new functionalities of Logos 5 which I don't yet have should have dots beside them showing they would be new to me ... but they don't.

I just checked my upgrade price from L4 Scholars Platinum (JG) to L5 Silver - $255. But the "new to you" comparison tool indicates that the only new resources I'd be getting are the same 3 I would get if I upgraded to L5 Gold for $550: The Lexham English Septuagint, Themelios 1–37 (1975–2012) (111 issues), and Lexham Greek-English Interlinear Septuagint

Great questions ... I thought the price was based on the actual resources I own, not the package name. Now I'm beginning to wonder ...

I'm starting to understand the concept, but I'm still stuck with something that doesn't make sense to me. I own Scholars Platinum (JG). When I go to the Gold L5 Upgrade page and click on "New to You" the only resources it shows me not yet owning are: The Lexham English Septuagint, Themelios 1–37 (1975–2012) (111 issues), and Lexham Greek-English Interlinear

Thanks Kevin. That seemed to work. It's rather complicated though. It would be good if Logos developed a more user friendly way of doing such basic searches, don't you think?

  • Hebrew search - including nouns with waw

I'm trying to find all occurances of עֵ֥ץ חַ֝יִּ֗ים but my search results are not showing those with a waw at the beginning of the first noun (i.e. Prov 13:12). How can I get the search results to include these occurances as well?

  • Free Preview of The Mission of God's People

The Mission of God's People: A Biblical Theology of the Church's Mission by Christopher Wright is the book I have been searching/waiting for for two decades. In a highly accessible yet thorough manner Wright draws us into the whole mission of the whole church in the whole world as it emerges through all of Scripture. This is an extremely important book
