New Layout Options on Tablet

Go deeper, quicker with more tiles on one tile group.

What is it?

You can now have up to six books and tools on your screen at the same time.

How to access it?

Open the Logos mobile app on iPad or Android tablet.
Open any book in your Library into the Reading View
Click the Layouts icon (one column and two squares) in the bottom right corner.
Select any layout option and add your desired books into each tile.
Optional: If you want to create a 6-tile tile group, choose the tile arrangement in the top right corner of the options (two columns and two squares). Then split the two column tiles into two, creating 6 square tiles in one tile group.

* These tiles can be rearranged by long-pressing on the title of one of the books and dragging it to another tile.

Note

This is not available on iPhone or Android phone.

Perhaps this is the better place for my comment, but…

I cannot see a way to adjust the size of the tiles. I used to be able to have my Bible and study guide up in the 2 tile vertical orientation and move a slider in the middle to adjust the size back and forth. Now in that orientation, the tiles are frozen each taking half the screen. Frankly, it’s hard for me to focus on the main thing (the Bible I have up) with this new update. If this is a feature, not a bug, please change it.

I cannot see a way to adjust the size of the tiles

I can resize mine up and down (vertically) but not side to side.

I do love how I can easily scroll from one tile set to another, perhaps that might be one workaround. You won't see all six open (say, if you opened 2 on one and 4 on another, for example) but the link sets will all still be connected (if you had them set up.)

This is a known limitation as of right now. Thank you for your feedback. We will consider adding this in the future.

Respectfully, any “feature” that takes away basic functionality from a product that has been around for years is not a feature. It’s bad design. Please fix this.

I teach out of the Logos app and not being able to adjust two tiles right next to each other is ridiculous. The fact that it can be done one way, and not the other is bewildering. This feature alone has made it very hard to teach out of the app now. I guess I will have to stop using the app until you guys get it figured out.

This is a great feature and the scrolling between windows has been fixed where they are much closer in sync. Thank you for the new layouts as this makes my iPad much more usable for in-depth study, not just reading.

I would love to use Highlights in a tile.

I use Logos mobile app not for word study and the like. I use the desktop Logos for that. Instead I use it for reading books. And I highlight to use them for later references. But I have to dig into the menus to access my 50 custom highlighters.

Have them in the Tile next to the book text would be great. I we can then still could resize that tile like the other contributors suggested, that would be a perfect fit.

But even if not: Having the option to choose displaying highlights in a tile would help my workflow a lot.

Thank you for your suggestions, Matthias. You should be able to access your top 20 most recently used highlights (including your custom highlights) on the first row of the selection menu. You will see this when you tap on text within the book you are reading. Though this doesn't include all 50 of your custom highlights, I hope this cuts down at least some of your time when highlighting.
