Bug: Choice of System Narrator is not persistent

If System Narrator is chosen for the ESV, it returns to David Cochran Heath after a restart. See the original thread for details.

This is also true for the LEB NT and for the audio-tagged Confessions of St. Augustine. I will also note that it happens when the resource is closed and opened again, irrespective of a program restart.

I also found that if you use Parallel resources function to move from one Resource (say ESV) to the next in the Parallel resource set (say LEB) and move back, the narrator settings changed.
For illustrationif I have 2 Bibles in the Parallel Resource Set ... ESV and LEB
- Open ESV
- Change narrator to "System Narrator"
- while reading the text ... hit the "right" cursor key to go to LEB
- hit the "left" cursor key to move back to ESV
- the Narrator setting changed back to the default "David Cochran Heath"

Bump,
Any chance to give us an option to select the Choice of the Narrator and have that setting be persistent between restarting Logos? Thanks.
With age, I found the Read Aloud feature to be useful while I am reading my ESV text, I have to use the "system narrator", as I notice that it does not help consume my limited cellular hotspot data, the way the better audio quality "David Cochran Heath" narrator does.
My work around for now is to hide my ESV Audio [:(] so that I do not have to change the setting every morning for my devotional readings.

The ESV audio book is provided by the publisher free of charge... provided that you can't download it. The reason it consumes your data is that it is streaming directly from the servers.
This isn't likely the choice you want, but there are other translations with good audio... including the free "Lexham."

JT,
Thanks for your suggestion to use the audio for LEB, unfortunately, that led me to discover another bug.
The narrator options for LEB are (1) Marv Allen (2) system narrator. The default is Marv Allen which is not working it uses the same system narrator, irrespective of which narrator I selected. I only run Logos 7 on macOS.
The text to speech voices that come free with macOS are quite decent. so I may have to continue to hide ESV audio for now to avoid audio streaming that burns my cellular data quota.

Which passage were you trying to "read aloud?" Have you "purchased" the free audio book?

JT,
Ah ha, you got me ... I was doing OT passages ... in your earlier post you mentioned Audio from Lexham (Free) [:)] so I happily assumed it is free for LEB without checking.
Yes the NT passages are reading OK with good quality voice. However, it does not work for OT ... may be Logos should remove narrator for OT passages [:)] if there is no OT audio. which I notice is still gathering interest at this stage.

JT,
Thanks, after reading your post, I discovered that LEB Audio (NT) provides an option to download the audio [:)] thus avoiding streaming that utilizes my cellular data.
Unfortunately, the LEB Audio (OT) is still gathering interest in community pricing after a very long time [:(]

I just Bided ... I think we should all jump in to support this project ... note Logos promise of matching credit once it is published [:)]
"Help us pay for the development of the Lexham English Bible Audio Old Testament and we'll match your contribution, determined by the final bid amount, in Logos credit. Once it ships, this resource will be free for everyone to enjoy." [Y]
