How do I make Logos look up German definitions?

Hi JR:
If you double-click the word, Logos should open the entry in your highest priority dictionary that has that word, which would presumably be your German dictionary. [Edit] If you have the Information window open, it should provide the definition (maybe truncated) when you either single-click the word or mouse-over the word, depending on your Info window options.
[Edit] In the mobile app, long-press, choose Info, then press Search. One of the hits should be your German dictionary.

I have it working for Spanish exactly as Robert M. Warren described. Please put a dictionary with German headwords as an index at the very top of you priorities then use the paperclip to show us what you get in the information panel and dictionary if opened. That will give us the information necessary to resolve your problem.

One idea is using Headword Search to see what resource(s) have German Headwords.
Apologies since my library does not have => https://www.logos.com/product/33539/modern-theological-german-a-reader-and-dictionary so lack a German dictionary (do have English and Spanish-English dictionaries).
Community Pricing for German-English dictionary => https://www.logos.com/product/55071/heaths-german-and-english-dictionary needs many more bids.

Neither of us are crazy ... however, I would report the resource as in error to Kyle:
The resource is indexed by German headwords which I would post a picture to prove but ... the metadata erroneously says they are English headwords. When this is fixed, it should start working correctly.

I will do that.
One other interesting note for those who are interested, it appears the tagging in the Dictionary does work but ONLY if one is using it in conjunction with the Modern Theological German: Reader. If I click on one of the words in the reader, it will open up in the Info panel using MTG:D.0 -

My guess, and it is only that, is that there is a datatype type of link between the two rather than a dictionary headword link ...

Thanks Jan, I will check it out. FYI, the specific issue here turns out to be an error in tagging for the resources in question. Logos is now on it and it should be fixed in the Dec 24 release. https://community.logos.com/forums/p/176551/1020107.aspx#1020107

As you now know, the MTG has been fixed:
MTG now gives hits for five of the seven German words in Gen 1:1, missing out on "am" and on "schuf".
For those interested in a more broad German/English and English/German dictionary, CP has one waiting for bids: https://www.logos.com/product/55071/heaths-german-and-english-dictionary I'm pretty certain that "am" or even the phrase "am Anfang" (= "in the beginning") will be covered there.
But: German is a highly inflected language, such as Latin and Greek. So "schuf" is the past tense of "schaffen" (= "to create"), and a rather irregular past tense, too. To really be able to work with any word, one would need an analytical lexicon that gives all inflected forms - should be easy to produce based on a PD text such as Luther 1912

I know this is outside of Logos but until we have more German-English resources, you may find QTranslate helpful (if you don't know of it already).
You can set it so that it gives you instant translation of words or sentences when you select text with your mouse.
