Logos 9 Bible Word Study Guide Lemma Section Shows Incorrect Principal Parts

When the Bible Word Study Guide displays, the "Lemma" section appears to list the principal parts (tense forms) of the verb. In a spot check of several lemmas, it seems that the last principal part, which should list an aorist passive form, lists instead the aorist active. (See screen shot)

λύω, πιστεύω, λαμβάνω, for instance, all show this way, with the aorist active form in place of the aorist passive.

The principal parts data is based on an analysis of the corpora that Logos has tagged as well as the entirety of Perseus data. In more cases than one would think, the proper form is not witnessed so IIRC we fell back to a 2nd or 3rd person form if it was extant.

In other places the Perseus data is simply ambiguous and may annotate an instance multiple ways; my guess is that this particular issue is evidence of that.

Thanks for the report, we'll create a case to look further into this.

    jwj,

Logos has excellent customer service, but this is a linguistics and tech issue. They failed here. After submitting reports and talking with them on the phone about this issue I am confident they do not know what you want them to fix or how to fix it. I submitted this issue several times and they always give the same response: "Thank you, we will look into this." The problem is still not fixed in May of 2023. The morphology chart does not help since it only has verb forms found in the GNT. Having every Greek verb incorrect in the principal parts chart seems like a big deal to me, you, and three other people in the world (sarcasm intended). Truly now, who even uses that part of the software? We cannot blame them for not caring about something most of the users do not even know exists. Love to know if you know of another platform or book that gives the correct principal parts.

If they ever do fix this error I hope they make the principle parts chart printable.

Welcome to the forums. Have you checked the data on the Perseus site?

Thank you for the help. I found the link you show. Perseus has hoards of information, but I have not found the principal parts yet.
