I love the latest revisions in Proclaim. Thanks for all the great work! One of my long requests was a way to add scripture/text into songs that would be a different font than the song lyrics. The revisions of the "text box" to add unique text on any slide in a song is awesome! Thanks.

Issue: I've been adding scripture verses that fit the theme of songs, in the bottom right corner of song lyric slides. The first few weeks after the BIG upgrade I was able to do this successfully....copying and pasting the same scripture in the bottom corner of the slides for the Chorus, for example, or even the whole song.

However, recently something has changed. Now, after making the initial text box on a slide and placing scripture in it, when I copy and paste it, each successive paste causes the text box to move a little to the right and little to the bottom, so that it eventually is pasting the box partially off of the slide.

The real issue though, is that when the song slides change the text box is not in the same position, but moves around (which is especially noticeable when the text in the box is the same) and it is nearly impossible to try to align them to be in the exact same position since there are no guides.

As mentioned, I was able to paste them successfully in the exact same positions on the slides, after the initial big upgrade. However, now, I am having to avoid putting text boxes on consecutive slides in order to avoid the awkwardness of the text box constantly changing positions.

Is there a way to find what caused this and repair it, so that the text box can be copied and pasted, once again, into the exact same position on consecutive slides?

Hey Dave, thanks for bringing this to our attention. I’ll look into restoring this behavior.

I am thinking that this came about from copying and pasting on the same slide. If you don’t nudge it down then the pasted field would be right on top of the copied one. Which is not ideal for selecting them. However, I agree that it is unexpected for it to be nudged when pasting on another slide. Especially when we don’t have guides or an alignment menu currently.

As for them moving around... Songs are kinda of special since we generate the slide based on the lyrics and the verse order sequence, but the new textFields are based on the index of the slide. So.. the chorus may be the 3rd slide, but after changing the verse order it is now the 5th slide.... We opted to just leave it based on index instead of doing something potentially more mysterious based on index and the verse it was placed on.

I’m glad you are liking the changes! Looks like you are making use of custom quick screens too! Have you used multiselect much? What about the drag and drop?
