Bradley Grainger (Faithlife):
There's "no such thing" as "Wordsearch resources" Smile. They're all Logos resources now.

I thought there was a way to identify the individual licenses where we have multiple licenses for commonly bundled resources like the KJV. If this still exists as a concept would it not be possible to add a WordSearch identifier to the licenses generate on the merge so that this could be interrogated in the future?

I seem to be missing the New Living Translation, Second Edition and the New International Version (not the Anglicised version) in my account.  I have them in Wordsearch.  How do I get those in Logos?

I think there would also be some real utility in simply tagging everything Wordsearch offered. Then users can filter by that 'Community Tag' or whatever and figure out by looking at Last Updated what came over from Wordsearch.

They are moving things over. I believe that is a Bible translation already present in Logos. so it should come quickly. if not, shoot an email to customer service (or call them if you prefer) and they should take care of you.

Yes, this would need to be calculated on a per-user basis. We currently have no plan to perform this (per-user) calculation and expose it through the licensing system to the application.

I'm not seeing NLT in your Wordsearch licenses. Can you confirm the version you have in Wordsearch by going to the Library, right-clicking on NLT, choose Properties, and copying the Book ID?

It looks like we didn't link up the NIV correctly; we will fix that soon.

I purchased Logos a few weeks ago when WS was struggling with their Mac software. I love all the features and Logos seems to have many wonderful study options, but the learning curve was steep and I ended up reverting back to WS and what was familiar.

I am willing to put the time in to make this work but for now, can someone please tell me how to best use Strong's? In WS i could open the KJV, turn on #'s, and hover over a number to see a definition. Does Logos have this feature or do I have to open Strong's separately from the KJV?

Hi Laura and welcome!

Try this:

Open your KJV and make sure it is the reverse interlinear that is tagged. You will know this if you hover over a word it will show you the original language information.

Open your lexicon, Strongs Enhanced if that is what you have or want to use.

Click on the three vertical dots on the far right and in the menu that opens click on Link Set A for both resource.

Now if you click on a word in the KJV the Strongs (or other lexicon) entry will open.

To enhance this further you can open two other items:

Under Guides you can open the Bible Word Study Guide and link it the same as above.

Under tools you can open the information pane.

Here is a screen shot with all of them open and linked. Click on a work in the KJV and everything will link up.

From a personal perspective, the ability to track the origin of some licenses would be useful but not essential or a priority.

But for context from memory, I don't have a lot of overlap and there are only a handful of resources that I own where I could potentially transfer the Logos license to someone else because I purchased it as an individual resource and now have a duplicate license from WordSearch.

Out of interest does the transfer process not produce an output for each user process that could be shared as a CSV?

Most but not all of my books have transferred into Logos. But my Perks subscription, it says to update my profile to renew this subscription, but when I click the link it brings me to my subscriptions page and only my Faithlife Connect Essentials is listed there. What am I to do to keep my Wordsearch Perks going?

Couldn't edit my last post for some reason. But just for the record, I just renewed my Perks through Worsearch not more than a month ago, so I am a current subscriber to it through Wordsearch.

I think Perks subscriptions aren't going to be set up until Monday morning. If you still don't see anything by the end of the day Monday, please post back.

I have literally spent hours and have more hours to cross-reference my Word Search Library with my Logos library and the resources that cam over. This is not a simple process. For example, I have 9 volumes of Butler's Sermon Starters in Wordsearch and 5 in Logos. Without opening the resources in both and comparing the table of contents, I have no way of knowing if Logos has the entire set in fewer volumes. I too would love an individual comparison list showing the WordSearch title, the Logos Title, when it will be available if not already, etc.

Thanks, Carla

What's up everyone!?!

I'm both excited and tentative to have the resources combined. I have 2 separate emails for both programs. I wonder if it is wise to keep it like this until all resources are confirmed migrated to Logos from Wordsearch, then verify all is good before combining the 2. This may be helpful in "tracking" what comes over and what does not (and fortunately I have a new machine that didn't have Logos on it yet, so I'm able to do this). Think it's worth it? Not sure, but it will help...I think...just extra work on my side : (

So my question is:

1) Is there a time limit to have accounts combined?

2) What do we do with titles that are not yet migrated and that are not in the list provided that are planned to be migrated (for example: I see The NIV Study Bible has not been added, nor is it on the list of to be added; the same is true for The Founders Journal and some other "older" titles from the Doxa days)?

There is no time limit to have accounts merged.  Customer service will be able to handle that for you whenever you are ready.

Please continue to report these anomalies as you discover them.  This is very helpful as we work through the transition.
