Hello All,
I got a little bit confused with the latest Logos Blog post about the new NIV 2011. I would like to know if someone knows what is happening, or, what is going to happen. I have recently posted an issue related to the NIV Bibles on Logos (http://community.logos.com/forums/t/28822.aspx). But my question here is not directly related to that post, although some people contributed to what I am questioning here.
My question is about what is going to happen to our NIV Bibles. I guess, part of my confusion is that Logos is claiming to give away the new NIV 2011 to all of us. At some point they say:
"Instead of charging for it, we’ve decided to make it available free of charge—a value of nearly $27.00"
Does it mean that we are going to have two NIV Bibles? Are we going to have the NIV 1984 RI and the NIV 2011 non interlinear? That is the way I have in my resources now. I have the NIV 1984 with only N.T. interlinear, and I have the NIV 2011 but not interlinear at all.
So, some questions I have are:
- Are we (those who purchase Logos 4 a while ago), stay with both version of NIV (1984 and 2011)?
- Is the NIV 1984 going to be fully RI?
- Will not the NIV 2011 be RI?
I don't think that Logos will terminate the NIV 1984, otherwise they would not be giving for free the NIV 2011, they would be just replacing one for another. Is that right?
Thanks!
